yeah. both the mac i`m using and the computer upstairs log me out when the timer hits zero. but i can still get back on the mac after my time is up, but only if i have mom come downstairs and type in her name and password.

That's exactly how my Mac works. I have threes hours on each weekday and five hours on each weekend day. I can usually log all those hours, too XD.
