Page Seventeen:
"Coming." I stand stiffly in front of Sam with my arms crossed.
The smile that had been on his face moments ago is slowly fading and he realizes there is no chance that I will go with him. "Ellie..." he looks around the room doubtfully.
"No, no, no! I don't care how much you beg! it never works. you tried to convince me before, and I said no. did I go with you after you begged agin? NO. I dont care if you think im being moody or whatever, im just fed up with you thinking you can flip your hair to the side and look at me with those gorgeous eyes and then ASSUME I am going to say yes!" I cry out, realizing what I had said. Sam smiles again.
"Gorgeous eyes?" he blinks a few times and stares at me, still grinning.
"I didn't mean it like that, and you know it." I fight for words, but I know I have already lost.
"I know exactly what you meant." Sam leans down to pick up a t-shirt that landed at his feet. when he straightens out, he drops it into the suitcase. then repeats with the other clothing around the room. I stay exactly where I am.
"I cant win can it?" I pout, but not really.
"I wouldn't say win or loose when it comes to leaving the district. I would say its a win to join the group im coming from."
"What group?"
Sam sighs, "I cant tell you until you meet Louie." he drops a school-uniform skirt into the suitcase.
"Why do I need that?"
"So you have finally decided to agree and come?"
I point a finger at him and put a serious face on, "I didn't say that."
Sam just shrugs, "You'll come around. and you'd be surprised at what you can do in a school uniform when your on the outside."
I groan and pick up some clothes on the ground, balling them up and throwing them into the suitcase. After a short while of re packing things and talking to Sam about the government, he closed the suitcase and lock it with a simple pass code. then he begins to pick up clothes to throw into the hamper I never use.
"Uh, Sam? What are you doing?" I ask.
"Picking up, isn't it obvious?"
"Yeah, but why?"
"You want me to leave them here?" he asks clueless.
"No, but theres an easier way to clean up." I snap my fingers and speak to the room "no more clothes," then I whisper, "bye bye clothes." with a grin.
I watch Sam's expression change from confusion to amazement with joy when the clothes from my room slowly fade to dust then nothingness. Maybe going with him wont be such a bad thing...
