Drawing Tutorial Series

Postby Cerulean Wake » Sun Apr 02, 2017 3:18 am

A new series that I'm starting! The small tutorial above- if you haven't already realized- is a joke representing how art tutorials usually are. I hope that mine will be easier to understand and more "relatable" in the sense that I'm an amateur artist and so are you (probably).

I will be going over basic anatomy (hands, face, body, movement, etc.), and all tutorials will be in the editable oekaki so you can make your own version and try the techniques out for yourself. Keep in mind that this is just the way I personally draw and is in no way the only method of drawing.

in my art class we just covered a whole section about human face proportions and how to draw the facial features and add proper shading, but we didn't cover anything besides the face.
i'd have to say my biggest weaknesses are the hands, feet, drawing the muscular shape of the arms and legs, getting bends/curves in the torso to look right [so the characters don't look stiff as a board...], but the biggest is definitely drawing realistic looking hair, so if possible could i suggest a tutorial on how to draw hair that 1. looks decent and 2. obeys the laws of physics as we know them here on earth?

i'll definitely be marking this! ovo

Sure! I'll definitely try to do a hair tutorial. My next tutorials are going to be: How to use chibipaint, Hair, and Body Movement. And then I'll go onto weird, hard-to-draw body parts like feet, lips, and noses.

In the meantime though, here's a tutorial that's not by me: MaryDoodles: Hair Tutorial

Also sorry it took so long to reply, I had a tab open to write a message for like a few days but forgot about it (T_T)
