Meringue, Djenku, Whynd, Flint, Hawk, Mint-tail, and Dustdawn stood together. The darkness swirled about in the water, red eyes glittering in its depths. Hawk stepped forward first,"The light has come to destroy the darkness!"He growled. Meringue moved to his side,"The blind shall see!"Mint-tail erupted in a furious snarl,"Acursed fiend, arise!" The demon rose from the water. Dustdawn and Mint-tail stood beside eachother, the blind. Djenku and Whynd pressed close, the strong. Hawk was alone, at the head of the group. Flint and Meringue, the two who were closest, murmured their farewells. First, Dustdawn and Mint-tail sprang on the beast, bowling it over. Djenku and Whynd clawed at its eyes, trying to blind it. Hawk twisted one of the wolf demon's hind legs back, bending it. Finally, Meringue and Flint tore at its throat. After a great struggle, the fiend was dead. This was good news. But, Meringue, Flint, and Whynd lay dead on the crimson grass.

((Nuuuuuuu! *weeps over dead wolves* ))

Merr looked at Solar and Sahara in the den, he smiled and padded off, alone. He stumbled across a terrible scene. "Flint? Whyd? Meringue?" He threw back his head and howled, moruning the dead.

Solar snaped her head to look out the den "NO!" She cryed. The darkness had come. She threw back her head and let out a long, mourning howle

Ash followed the howling and let out a sad howl even though she didnt know them

Sahara heard the howls and joined in, mourning the dead. She wimpered and snuggled beside Solar. "Mummy...I'm sad."

Akela stared at the three dead wolves with a, 'this should not have happened' shake of her head. She walked up to the bodies while looking at Mint-tail.

"Wait!" Kala cried. He jerked his head when he heard sullen howls, Mourning howls. It must be bad. Kala closed his eyes and pointed his muzzle to the ground, sending a respectful and silent prayer to the skies. After he was done showing his respect, the sorrow was no longer for the dead, it was for himself. He walked back to his cave and sat at the entrance, trying to think of a way to handle everything. I am not supposed to have a mate, or a pack. I don't even think that StarPack wants me to have friends at least.

Skarr and Falcon heard howls. They lifted their heads, curious.

Bella closed her eyes, trying to shut out the sorrowful howls, she couldn't take it, she just couldn't. She ran out of her den, covered in shadows, running blindly, she had to get away from all the sadness, all the weeping, the struggles of life......she had to die.
