[center]Silverdapple watched as Sunflame dragged his feet, an expression of sympathy on her face. It was rather unfair that Sunflame should be picking up Oakfurs lazy slack. Sighing, she turned back to Ashstar, purring in amusement. "Until I have a cat with the suffix 'paw' at my heals each day, I don't think I'll be getting used to the idea too easily." she chuckled, grinning a bit at Ashstar. "But I'll do my best, Ashstar, I promise you." This time, her words were a vow, one of sincerity. This honor was too large for a cat like her, but if she couldn't carry it, maybe she'd have to take it to the water and just... Float. See where the tides took them, just go along with the ride.

Tigerdust yawned as he opened one gray eye, like a small fragement of a storm suddenly appearing in the milky light of dawn. Pulling himself to his paws, he shook out his fur, grit and moss falling down around him. He gave himself a few quick licks before trotting out into the light, grimacing slightly at the sudden change of allumination. When his gaze focused, he spotted his sister, along with Ashstar and Bluebird, in the center of camp. Shrugging, he trotted over, taking a seat alongside Silverdapple. "Hey little sis," he purred licking the fur on her head the wrong way. "Missed a spot." he noted, a teasing grin on his face. "Thanks for that Tigerdust, but I believe Blackthunder already pulled that on Ashstar." Silverdapple purred in return, shaking her head.

Ashstar smiled, knowing that he had picked the right warriors to mentor the three apprentices. They were the only apprentices in IvyClan, and would carry them into the future. Until more came along, they needed strong, capable warriors, and the grey tom was sure that Silverdapple and Bluebird were those cats.
At Silverdapple's words with her brother, he purred.
"That much is true, at least. But I got my revenge."

Bluebird smiled, raising a paw and fluffing up Tigerdust's fur. "There," she mewed. "It looks just darling now." She cocked her head, trying to look as sweet and innocent as possible. Heppy to be in a less serious mood, the she-cat said to Ashstar, "Have you told the apprentices yet? Who their mentors will be, I mean."
Would her apprentice like her? It was another thing Bluebird was worried about, but she wouldn't let it show.

Ashstar shook his head, a small smirk playing on his lips. Before he answered, he chuckled at Tigerdust's new look, thinking about how the Clan was relaxed enough to mess about. Of course, it was him and Blackthunder who had started it. Snapping back to reality, he gazed at Bluebird.
"No. I like to see their facial expressions when they find out at the same time the mentors do." He admitted, his bobbed tail twitching.

[Africa.]

"Well, I guess I had that coming." He chuckled, swiping his tongue across his paw and brushing down the fur. He mock-glared at Silverdapple, who was stiffling her laughter at the sight of him. "Personally, I think the apprentices are adorable standing up in front of the high rock all groomed and antsy." She purred in amusement at the thought, having always had a certain love for kits, despite the fact that she'd never really thought about having some of her own.

Ashstar chuckled, remembring when Silverdapple herself had stood before him, waiting for him to announce her mentor. Stop thinking like this. You're making yourself feel old. Well, he was, really. He had been the leader of IvyClan more around ten seasons now, through Newleaf, Greenleaf and Leafbare, many times. Not to mention he had been a senior warrior when he was made deputy. So, despite his nature, he was old, and he didn't have many lives left.
"You would think that."

Bluebird grinned, saying, "True, they are so cute. And inoccent, too. Never had to fight in a battle...except against their littermates and such, of course. But that's just what apprentices do, isn't it? Ashstar, when will the ceremony be? And I thought you looked quite dapper like that, Tigerdust," she finished, smirking yet again.
Glad to be back in a more playful mood, Bluebird wouldn't allow herself to think any bad thoughts.

Ashstar merely smirked. He wasn't going to tell her. He wasn't going to tell any of them. It's more fun to keep them waiting.
"You really think I'm going to tell you? No, I'm not." He teased, before standing. "Anyone wat to go hunting?"
