Brokenkit followed Oakclaw, trying hard not to fall too far behind. He was limping as fast as he could. "But Oakclaw!" he squeaked. "There's already a Shadekit..."

Oakclaw nodded. "What about Redkit? Or Foxkit?"

[Nutheart]

Brokenkit erred for a moment. "Moonshine has a kit named Redkit...and I'm not foxlike at all..." he murmured.

[Lover-Of-Music!]

Oakclaw sighed. "Treekit? What do you want to be called, actually?"

[Jetti]

Shadekit purred. "Oooo! I can't wait!"

[Nutheart]

Brokenkit looked thoughtful for another moment, then mewed "Mama's sister called me 'Darkkit' sometimes...maybe I could be Darkkit."
Little did he know, that's what his mother was originally going to name him. Her sister had remembered, and hated the name Brokenkit...so when nobody was listening, she'd called him Darkkit.

Oakclaw nodded. "Shadowstar, please can you change his name to Darkkit. And may I mentor him?"

Moonshine watched Brokenkit, brimming with proudness.

Redkit and Silverkit slept.

Doveheart scooped up the kit and brought him back to camp.

Brokenkit looked up at Oakclaw, his eyes shining. "Do you really mean it?" he whispered in awe. He could barely contain his excitement, and couldn't wait until he became six moons old!

[Jetti]

Shadekit wailed.

Ivyleaf ran over to her kit. "Sadekit? Whats wrong?" She asked.

Clawtail smiled.

"Of course I do!" Oakclaw purred.
