Risingspirit looked up quickly at the little kit. He gave him one of those raw smiles, that said bitterness, but tried to be polite. "Hello. What's the matter?" He tilted his head, honestly confused.

Dovewing sighed at the kit. She crept closer to Risingspirit, afraid Lionkit would push her into the river again. She looked at him.
"Lionkit..." she muttered.

Risingspirit opened his mouth, but closed it. He had absolutely nothing to say. He looked down, feeling bad. He looked at Dovewing, wondering a little bit if she found it awkward.

Dovewing leapt away from the kit and almost fell in the river. She was close to falling off but glared at him.
"Lionkit! No! I can choose who I want to be with," she paused and looked at her paws, "And its not with you," she muttered, then prepared herself for Lionkit to go into a strop.

Dovewing felt terrible, but he was only a kit. Even if she was going to be with him when he was older, the age difference was massive and it would be very awkward. She felt reassured when Risingspirit put his paw on her back. She wasn't scared of water, but had a bad expieriance with it once...
