Risingspirit dipped his head. "You don't happen to want a mate, do you?" He kept his head down and scratched at the dirt in front of him.

Dovewing blinked at his question. Yes, it would be nice having a mate, but maybe not just yet. She had only just become an apprentice remember.
"Hm, well it would be nice," she paused looking down too, "But not yet. I wouldn't want to have a mate now. Especially because I only just became a warrior," she whispered then flicked her tail a bit.

Risingspirit sighed and fell into a relieved heap. "Okay, good. I mean, that's great!" He smiled behind his paws. "I was thinking the same thing." He nodded reassuringly.

Dovewing smiled nodded then stretched up. She licked her paw then the she-cat looked around.
"Is there anything else we need to do here?" she asked, "But we can stay for abit if you like," she meowed.

Risingspirit got up and shook his relief off, replacing it with dignity. "I'm fine with whatever you like." He smiled, contented with the day.

Dovewing nodded and ruffled her pelt.
"I think we should be gettong back. Some of the cats may be a bit worried," she mewed then looking at her paws and sighing.
"Especially Darkcloud," she muttered under her breath then started to walk back.

Risingspirit kept pace with her the whole way home, just studying her. When they got there, he buttered something and disappeared into the brush. He looked at his paws and said, "So would she be for my being leader?" he asked himself.

Dovewing wandered into camp. She was greeted by an annoyed cousin. The tom stalked towards her.
"Dovewing! Where have you been?" Darkcloud growled. She shuffled back a little.
"I was taking Risingspirit to the river. Why? Whats wrong?" she asked, trying to look unafraid.
"Why?! Because he looks... Odd!" he growled. Dovewing narrowed her eyes at him.
"Shut up!"

Risingspirit came out after a few heartbeats and approached her and Darkcloud. he blinked and smiled pleasantly. "Hello!"
