A yawn startled me awake, this caused me to quickly jump to my large brown paws, and arch my back in a strech. The familiar scent of gorse and lavender flowers ingulfed my nose, refreshing me after a long sleep in the open. I let out a small cough, and returned back to my normal state, padding out of where the apprentices had to sleep and into the main clearing, my eyes falling on the large, tempting freshkill pile. I licked my chops, and padded slowly closer and closer to the pile, hoping no one would notice my brown fur, which stood out quiet unusually.

A dusty brown leg suddenly stepped in front of Oakpaw, the tom-cat boar down on the Apprentice. "I hope you're coming to get fresh-kill for the queens and elders, Oakpaw..." His voice trailed ominously as his eyes narrowed slightly. He stepped back slowly, allowing access to the clump of food. His eyes burned into the tom-cat pelt, watching his every move. Dustyfang had always been a bit too strict around Apprentices.

I doubled over in surprise, my gaze whipping to Dustyfang. "I err.. Sure.. I mean yeah.. I was.." I stuttered, sheepishly hunching over my shoulders, and delicately gripping a piece of prey in my mouth. I began to back away, tail between my legs, towards where the elders had a small bit of shelter for their den. I gave a quick nod to Dustyfang, then turned tail and bolted, ducking into the den. I lurked along through the shadows, praying to Starclan the elders wouldn't see me there.. I was lucky.! I ducked through the secret tunnel I knew so well, and out onto the moor, settling down just beside the camp wall to have some prey. Starclan forbid Dustyfang finds me.. I silently mrrowed.

Dustfang watched Oakpaw duck into the elder's den. He sighed heavily, and twirled his tail slightly. Fallensnow and Clawheart started following Dustfang out of camp. "I noticed the kill pile was a bit low today, so, let's get some real prey." Clawheart smiled, and bounced off, Fallensnow followed Dustfang as they galloped across the moor.

Clawheart bounced around the bramble protecting camp. She suddenly stopped in her tracks, and stared out over the moor, seeing a brown lump hunched over something. She slowly stalked toward it, and was about to pounce when she realized, "Oakpaw! What are you doing?! I almost pounced on you!" She stood up, and strode over to the Apprentice confidently. She stopped, once again, and mewed, "Are you eating?" She stretched out her neck, and looked at what he clenched so tightly to himself.
