He could tell that Sweetpaw's wrench wasn't as serious as his had been, but he still wanted to check out the apprentice's paw. "It's a good thing I trained to be medicine cat when I was an apprentice." he though to himself, his ears twitching slightly. When Hawkclaw had still been Hawkpaw, he had indeed been the medicine cat apprentice. However, when he showed potential during a battle, and found he enjoyed fighting more than healing, he'd pleaded with both his mentor and his leader. After a few training sessions, the old leader had agreed, taking him on as her own apprentice. Sadness touched his heart as he thought of her, and her death three days after his warrior ceremony.
Finding a quiet area, she nodded to Hawkclaw. "You can look at my paw here, if you want." Hopefully he would, because that would mean that they could get back to hunting faster. The apprentice sat down, her tail at her side, and lifted her paw, ready for Hawkclaw to look at it. The blood had fully dried now, but after walking, the throbbing had become worse. Still, she was willing to suffer to help her Clan, like she should.
