Rex could hear the vocie of Absence joining in with his song. His voice was sad. Frater was alive! Rex smiled, the song became more joyful. He continued to sing.

Chrono and Bridget had fallen asleep curled up together, much like they did in the swarm. It's what they did to conserve body heat...Though it worked better when there was more then two of them. Being in the originals territory, they couldn't hear the song, and so they did not awaken.
