April heard him and called back to him "Oh stop with the sob story, If living the rest of my days alone,outside and away from the pack means giving Drifter the chance to mature and be happy then so be it. I won't let her end up like me,Confussed with no where to turn. Even if it does mean being away from everyone,even my family. Drifter and I are living and I assure you, I wont be crwling back to you this time, im leaving to the moutains wth her and you or anyone else wont stop me...and may I say, the oncomming beta is not my son, he is yours,..he has your stubborn,cruel personality...he will never be a son of mine,my only pup is Drifter." April flashed her brown eyes over at him for a moment and then trotted off with the pups gently in her mouth. April finally arrived at the moutain and by the time she got there both her pup and her were tired and hungry. April bedded down and she let Drifter nurse as she looked around her new home and she let out a howl,just to make sure she was alone up her. The wind rushed threw Aprils ruffled coat and she curled herself around Drifter,they didnt have a den for now but she was planning on making one tomorrow morning where Drifter,the little loner pup, would be safe.

Dustin growled. "You honestly think your doing the right thing for her, but your blind. What is better? To be in the safe surroundings of a pack that can protect her, or out in the open as a loner. What if something happened to you, before Drifter was ready? She would die within days alone. She's safe here, talk to Fawn. She'll allow it.Just dont do anything you'll regret."

April had already left the pack,ignoring Dustin's last comment, what did he know about parenting, after all, he was the one that had left his pups for a foggy place he called 'home'. April snuggled around the pup glad to know she was alone,Drifter was about 1 and was obsessed with exploring. After Drifter had rested for awhile she got up while her mother was still sleeping and decided to go exploring for awhile. Drifter came across a foggy meadow and she stepped into the fog with her nose low to the ground. More wolfs? This was apparently something her mother didn't know about,she had to tell her, but that could wait. Drifter trotted around for a little bit before she stopped and went back to her sleeping mother.

Dustin felt alone and sighed. "Your ingnorance will kill that pup. How could you be so proud that you blind yourself of all sense? I do not know you...Goodbye April....." Hewhispered into the wind, which beckoned him home. He walked torwards the pack. As he entered camp, he looked for his sister, Fawn. "Fawn...I must speak with you."

Fawn turned to see who called her. "Dustin? Your back....what is wrong?"

Dustin looked over the pack. "April has left the territory to live as a loner. She is no longer my mate. I also wish to retire. I feel it in my bones, I have lived as beta long enough. April felt that she lived long enough with me as well. She has a lone pup that she has kept for the past few weeks. She took it with her. I'm not sure what you decide to do, but the pup is her's to keep."

Fawn paused, taking in his news. "I see....this will be very troubling for the pack.She won't make it, If I know April, She'll be stubborn as usual. Pulling a stunt like this risks too many lives. If she isn't back by morning, however; I'll send a patrol of the fastest males to find her.Dead or alive. As for the pup, so be it. And I relive you of you duties. Who is your heir, you have... 5, If I do recall correctly?"

Dustin only nodded. "Very good. Tyron is my heir and will take on the position well."

Fawn loked over the moonlight night. "Fine. Go, rest in the elder's den. I was awaiting this...I feel it too. But Myria is not yet ready, my cousin is young and romantic, but she must learn to trust her friends before she can take over. I will teach her. Go rest now. I will handle it." The alpha leaped up onto her rocky outcrop and watched the pack settle in for the night.
