Janie lowered her head. "Okay." Her voice cracked. "Thank you."

Jake put his arm around Janie."Oh,Janie...I'm so sorry."he whispered hugging her.

Joe gently lay Flicka's head in his lap."I used to own a horse."he whispered.

Joe stroked Flicka's neck."Easy girl.Shh"he soothed quietly.

Janie just stood there, shaking. She pulled away from Jake and walked over to Flicka. "See you later girl." She said, stroking her back before walking towards the barn. She called the vet on the way there and told her where Flicka was. Before long, the vet arrived. "We're going to take her to the Equine Hospital so she can have surgery on her leg." The vet told Joe. Janie arrived at the barn and walked to her cabin. She locked the door and kept checking her cell phone for any calls from the hospital.

Flicka snorted, getting up. she wasn't going anywhere

Jake followed Janie.He knocked on the door.

Joe watched them.He stood in the parking lot unsure of what to do.He didn't have a car,money,and a place to stay.He was all alone.

The vet injected Flicka with a medicine to knock her out. She turned to Joe. "Do you need a ride back to the barn?" She asked kindly.

Janie got up and opened her door. "What?" She asked quietly.

Flicka snorted and galloped towards the hospital, she wasn't leaving without a fight
