Riversplash felt a sharp twinge in her belly. She called for Rainfeather, but he didn't come. She sighed. This would be a difficult birth.
She gasped in pain as the first kit was born. He was a tabby tom with green eyes. Just like his father, Riversplash thought. The next kit was born quickly, with almost no pain. She was a silver tabby with blue eyes, just like her mother. Riversplash wondered if she was done. The next moment, another blinding pain reminded her that another kit was on its way. This was a white she-kit with blue eyes. The next kit, a silver tabby with her father's eyes, was finally born. Riversplash knew she was done.
