Selene bristled and looked up, "What?" she sighed.

"I-I---I just wanted to see you. Where are the cubs?" Ahadi glanced around, not meeting her eyes.

Selene sighed, "I left them with Mheetu and Jackal."

"Oh." Ahadi interpretted what she really meant in his head. "I think your brother is more trustworthy of watching my children than you are, Rogue." This is what he imagined her to say.

Selene closed her eyes, "I wish their father would be there to take care of them...." she sighed and looked away.

Perry wanted to snap at her that that wasn't their son. But he didn't. He just looked at the sky.

Simba sighed. "Kid... Being a male... I know that as we grow older we forgot about our cubs. Kill them if they get in our way. Your dad is just a normal male lion. A male lion near a female he likes."

Selene closed her eyes, "I wish their father would be there to take care of them...." she sighed and looked away.

Ahadi suddenly felt defensive. "You never let me see them! It would be nice if I get to at least visit them every once in a while, but you always keep them away from me! I'm not a scary, dangerous Rogue anymore, Selene."

Selene looked at him, "Theo reminds me of you..." she mewed softly and looked at the ground. She knew he was right.

Ahadi caught sight of Selene and ran to her. "Selene!"

Mheetu saw an antelope running towards him and leapt at it. He sliced its throat then noticed Shadow. He dragged it to her and dropped it at her feet. "Missing something?" He teased.

Kopa came to the river and jumped in, ignoring the icy chill.

Shadow snarled, "Yeah, because of my stupid pelt!"
