HERBS FOR THE MEDICINE CATS:
Coughs, breathing and sore throats:
Tansy~ a small dose for a cough
Catmint~ best for greencough, but also brings great pleasure
Coltsfoot~ helps breathing and short breaths
Juniper berries~ Sore throats and breathing
Honey~ for a cat who has breathed in smoke
Ginger~ only a small amount needed
Sage~ for white cough
---All to be eaten---
Fever, bellyache and chills:
Watermint~ for bellyache. chewed to a pulp
Lavender~ soothes fever
Juniper berries~ bellyache and sore throats
Feverfew~ for fevers and chills
Borage~ Brings down fever
Chervil~ for bellyache

Infections, wounds and scratches:
Poppy seeds~ for pain, but not for nursing queens
Yarrow~ for scratches, also to make a cat sick
Nettle~ applied to a wound to bring down swelling
Marigold~ used to line a wound to keep out infection
Wild garlic~ keeps out infection, needs to be rolled in
Horse tail~ for infected wounds, chewed up for wound
Goldenrod~ Heals wounds
Dried oak leaf~ keeps out infection
Dock~ soothes scratches, also makes a coat slippery
Comfrey~ black roots chewed up to heal wounds and broken bones
Chervil~ for infected wounds as well as bellyache
Burdock root~ for rat bites. Chewed up and laid on wound
Cobweb~ used as a bandage to stop bleeding
---Apply all but poppy seeds---
Calming, anxiety:
Thyme~ for frayed nerves and calming
Poppy seeds~ for shock and distress, and aids sleep
Chamomile~ nice and calming

Extras:
Mousebile~ for ticks. Smells and tastes horrible!
Deathberries~ NOT to be eaten, as deadly poisonous
Dock~ used to make a coat slippery
Ragwort~ for strength, to be eaten
Borage leaves~ helps queens produce milk
Huckleberry~ Sore joints, aches and pains
Alfalfa~ stops tooth decay
Yarrow Ointment~ Sore paws and pads
