"Oh, hello Swiftpelt. Nice day isn't it?" Petalsong asked half-heartedly. She glanced around the camp with a sad look in her eyes. "It's too bad that there are hardly any cats here to enjoy it" She licked a paw and used it to clean her face. She watched as a bird flew across the sky. It was so free and had little to worry about.
"One day I will be the strongest warrior ever and you will be sorry!" Eaglepaw snapped. He had finally managed to get the moss from his pelt and was sitting opposite to his sister. "What for? Being related to you? I already am" Heatherpaw said casually. "Look if all you're going to do is brag, i'm going back to bed" She then stood up and slipped back into the apprentice's den. She found a nice enough spot towards the back and stretched out. She was about to close her eyes when her brother came marching in. "Honestly. Bed. No wander you have no clue about anything. Get up lazy" Eaglepaw prodded his sister hard at her exposed underbelly. "Ow cut that out!" Heatherpaw snapped. "What are you going to do about it?" He snapped back at her. Eaglepaw continued to poke her until she lashed. Heatherpaw quickly sunk her teeth into her brother's paw. Not very deep but there were marks and a little blood. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!!!!" Eaglepaw said loudly, jumping up and down. "Well what do you know it's the almight warrior" Heatherpaw said sarcastically. Her brother pulled a face and left the den. "FINALLY" She exclaimed repositioning herself then closing her eyes.
Nightwhisker decided he had hunted enough and gathered what he had. A couple of mice, a squirrel and a vole. He carried all of it back to camp and dropped them into the fresh kill pile. He wasn't hungry and so left the pile to go sit in a sunny patch of grass. He gave himself a quick clean then laid down. Nightwhisker didn't pay much attention to anything but could hear faintly the apprentices fighting, again.
