She opened her eyes in time to see the dragonfly flutter off, and she let a small sigh escape her parted jaws. She let her tail swish through the air, as she turned back towards her own territory. Even the life of an alpha wouldn't be enjoyable if she was as alone as she was now, but as an omega, it was all the worse. She lifted her chin high, and headed back towards her own territory.
Paw-steps. She heard them. Turning back around, she saw a rabbitt hopping through the undergrowth, and let out a small breath, not realieved as others would have been. No, she longed to meet another of her kind, as she had been alone for the whole of her life. Even if this wolf was from a rival pack, she would enjoy getting to speak to them, just to hear another wolf's howl would be enough. "But that day will most likely never come..." She murmured to herself, even the sound of her own voice sounded strange to her ears, for she hadn't spoken in so long. She was almost always consimed in her own thoughts and wishes to talk. The only up-side to being alone in a pack, was that you got to choose the den you wanted, you got to eat whatever you caught, and there were no alphas to push you around.
But, it was no life to live. It was no different than being a loner in the forest; a rouge. She turned back for the second time, and headed back into the clearing where her pack made its home. She lay down in her den, and let her eyes flutter close.
