Fernpelt smiled reassuringly at Graceheart. "Don't worry, you'll do fine if they attack. Besides," she swept her tail across the camp-in-progress, "you have the rest of the Clan with you to fight alongside."

Graceheart nodded once again. It's too bad most of the Clan is either worn out from the battle or terribly disabled... she thought before snapping to attention and saying, "Yes, ma'am. I assure you that when you get back, the Clan will be...just fine."

Fernpelt dipped her head to her, "That's what I want to hear." She flicked her ear softly with her tail before padding out of camp. Warily, she called out, "Silverfur? Lemurclaw?"

Lightpaw lightly prodded Lionpaw's paw with her own, but as she poked it each time she pressed a little harder, waiting to see how Lionpaw would respond.

At the first poke Lionpaw nearly gasped, but he just tried to not show he was in that much pain, so after the fith poke he yowled in pain, "Okay, okay, please stop poking my my paw, it really hurts now!" He said, trying so hard not to scream out anymore.

Lightpaw looked up into his eyes, "Lionpaw, I don't think you should come tonight." Her own eyes shined with regret, but he couldn't risk hurting himself farther.

Fernpelt pricked her ears. "Lionpaw?"

Eaglepaw tilted his head. She-cats... he said, rolling his eyes and stomping his paws on the ground eagerly.

Lionpaw sighed and nodded, "Fernpelt, I hurt my paw when I was out with Lightpaw and I'm so sorry but I can't come with you, ask Ripplepaw to come with you instead of me. I'm sure she would like to." He said.

"That's alright," Fernpelt nodded to Lionpaw. "You should see Oceantail about that; she might be able to help you. And I'll ask Ripplepaw to come, thank you, Lionpaw."

Lightpaw wistfully licked Lionpaw's ear. "It's okay, Lionpaw. I bet she'll choose you to come next time she makes a journey to the Moonstone."

Lionpaw nodded and smiled, he went to Oceantails den, "Umm, Oceantail, I hurt my paw when I was out of camp, I don't know how badly though." He said.

Ripplepaw heard her name and went over to Fernpelt, "Do you need me for anything?" She asked, shyly.

"Your brother injured his paw while he was out with Lightpaw, and he told me to ask you if you wanted to come on the journey instead?" Fernpelt informed her, sitting down in the grass.

Lightpaw watched them for a moment, then bounded after Lionpaw towards camp. After he disappeared in the medicine cat clearing, she sat down beside Eaglepaw to wait for the others.
