Blackstorm twitched her tail. She could hardly keep still. Who would mentor the apprentices? Would she mentor one of them?

"Sorry I woke up late," Violetpaw whispered to Lynxbound.

Ashstar paused, and then continued. "BlackStorm, you are ready for an apprentice, you will be Firepaw's mentor. I know you will pass on your strength and loyalty to Firepaw, and teach him the skills that will make him a brave warrior of Skyclan."

Blackstorm blinked, surprised but pleased. Her first apprentice! She padded up to the Rockpile, and touched noses with Firepaw.

Lynxbound glanced down at Violetpaw. "No matter." He whispered back, flicking his tail. He directed his attention back to Ashstar and the newly-named Firepaw.

Windkit watched Firepaw touch noses with Blackstorm. Her paws tingled with excitement. She wondered who would be her mentor. Her nerves made her shiver, and she made sure to keep behind Waterkit and Lightkit.

Lightkit was literally shaking with excitment, her eyes wide, and her tail twitching back and forth. Who would be her mentor? So many questions raced through her mind.

Leopardbelly wrapped her tail around her paws as she watched the two cats touch noses. Good choice. I'm sure Blackstorm will be a great mentor. She purred and continued to watch the cats of the ceremony.

Waterkit watched his brother proudly. I hope I get a mentor like Blackstorm. He looked back up at Ashstar, waiting for his turn and hardly able to breath out his extreme excitement.

Lightkit licked a small fluff of fur down on Waterkit's neck, wanting her brother to look proud and strong. But not messy.

Violetpaw nodded, then turned her attention back to Ashstar.
