Kay leaned back in her chair and stretched her arms, Fire Fang was fast asleep in the corner of her office. The dragons were at peace, no sports events were going on, no fights between people. So no one was coming in for injuries. One or two wold come in for supplies but other than that her office wasnt packed with dragon patients as it usually was.
Fire Fang snored and rolled onto his back, letting out a happy little groan. Kay turned around and smirked at her pet Knucker. Th cherry red, salamander-like dragon was pretty much her best friend. Her parents didnt have dragons, so they never helped her train or anything. They are vets as well, but they were to cowardly to get on a dragon's back and fly at 100 mph over an ocean, as Kay recalls.
Kay yawned, she was bored of sitting in her vet's office, but she was glad no one was getting hurt.

Fire Fang kicked his back legs a few times and squealed. Kay raised an eyebrow, she wasnt sure if her dragon was having a heart attack or a nightmare. She whistled a bit to maybe get Fang's attention. Fire Fang's head snapped up at Kay's whistle, he stared at her with big, silver eyes and cocked his head like a dog. Kay sighed a bit in relief, "another nightmare, eh boy?" she asked.
Fire Fang licked his lips and snorted, then lay his head back down again to rest.
"Hey, y'know, we could train right now. I'll call Dad over to watch the office, wanna go down to the lake?" Kay asked her Knucker.
Fire Fang opened his eyes again and shot right up from the ground. Circling and thumping his tail around.
"I take that as a yes" Kay laughed. She got up from her chair and walked towards the closet in the back to get Fire fang's riding harness. Meanwhile, Fire Fang was already waiting on the roof. Kay walked out of the closet with the harness hung over her shoulder, she hopped up the stairs that lead to the roof and met Fang up there.
She placed the harness lightly over her dragon's back. Tightening it over and under his body, pulling his small but powerful wings through the special holes in the harness. 1, 2, 3 and Kay had leaped up onto fang, Fang whistled through his nose with his head high. He was rearing to go. kay placed her hands on the wide horn that was attached to the saddle-like harness and gave a nudge with her foot. "Lets go, boy!" she cheered as her 2 year old knucker leaped from the roof and glided off towards the lake.
