Introduction:

You are a cat. You are a Messenger. You are a messenger for the Olympians. You're a cat that works for the Olympians as a messenger when they don't want to do their jobs. How did you get involved with this insane story? Well, the Guardians that pick the messengers pick the cats that have lived a rather harsh life that ends up making them hardy in the end, thus making it easier to train them for the messengers.

You are a wolf. You are also a Guardian. You are a Guardian for the Olympians. You're a wolf that works for the Olympians in picking out the cats. How did you get involved with this insane story? Well, one day, you were wandering out in the wild doing whatever you were doing at the time but poof, you were suddenly in a large, wooden house on the top of the Rocky Mountains as tame as a house dog. How did you get there and become so tamed? Well, that's a secret that the gods keep to themselves.

You are a cat. You roam the streets of a small town in the Rocky Mountains, or you live the sometimes luxurious life of a house cat. You're a completely normal cat that never would have expected something like this to happen. You have heard of the Messengers, yes, and you've met one of the Messengers at one point. You probably believe that the Messengers are totally insane, but there are some cats that actually believe they are telling the truth. So, do you believe in the Messengers or not?

The gods, Terminology, and About

Postby TheTravelingWriter » Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:37 pm

The gods:
This is the list of the gods, what they look like, and their current occupation (If they have one) to keep the house paid. The picture of the house will also be posted. Also, all of the gods are role-played by everybody. If you need them and if they aren't in use by somebody else for some reason, then they are yours to role-play; they are not the main characters that are role-played through the role-play, either. Please keep that in mind, as this role-play is a cat and wolf role-play.

The House:
The house is located up in the Rocky Mountains, nestled by a small town that doesn't get a lot of attraction most of the time, and that is just perfect for the gods to keep themselves hidden from the world. Forests circle the cabin-like house, and mortals just believe that it's just another one of the rich people's house, but that really isn't what it is. At first, when you look at it, the house is only two floors with two garages, possibly a small attic, and a few bedrooms. That's not what it looks like on the inside, though. Somehow, the gods have managed to make it a four story house that has enough rooms for the gods to have their own rooms, a large basement, a large attic, a large kitchen with a large dining room, two living rooms, and at least ten bathrooms. It really is a nice house on the inside.

The gods:
Title says all.

Zeus:
Zeus is tall, standing at about 6'4" in height with a barrel chest and very muscular limbs. His skin is wrinkled, showing that he is one of the older gods of the bunch, and he has curly silvery-gray hair that falls to about shoulder length as well as a gray, trimmed beard. His electrifying blue-green eyes pierce the very soul of any mortal that dares to look into his gaze, but he tries not to scare mortals too much. He usually wears fancy, pinstripe tuxedos all the time for some apparent reason, and he works as a weatherman at the local news station.

Poseidon:
Poseidon is tall, like his younger brother, standing at about 6'5" with an athletic build and somewhat lanky limbs, unlike his brother. His wrinkly skin is dark, a leather hue to be exact, from being out at the beach in the sun for far too long. He has curly black hair with ocean blue-green eyes that sparkle that change colour from his mood. He usually wears casual clothing, and he is pretty much happy with any of the casual clothing he can get his hands on. He works as a pool boy at the local pool. (Special thanks to my parents for making him a pool boy.)

Hades:
Hades is short, unlike his siblings, coming to a dinky 5'4"; he's also hunched over most of the time whenever he walks. His skin is pale, deathly pale, shade and he is more wrinkled than both of his brothers. He's extremely scrawny -skin and bones to put it simply-, and he has issues fighting since he usually sat on his behind in his old job as God of the Underworld. He usually wears darker coloured clothing, making him seem even more gauntly than he really is, and he works as a funeral director.

Hera:
Hera is a beautiful woman, to put it simply, standing at about 5'8" in height. Her body shape is slender and perfect, making her a very delectable woman indeed. Her arms are long and willowy while all of her limbs are very shapely. She has soft, pearly skin that is always soft to the touch; her skin compliments her oxen like, brown eyes. She has long, mahogany brown hair that falls to about mid-back length, and she usually has it in a braid draping over her shoulder. She usually wears dresses, like in the olden days, or fancy outfits like you'd expect business women would wear. She works as a marriage counselor from the house that she owns down the mountains near the small town. (Special thanks to my father for making her a marriage counselor.)

Demeter:
Demeter stands at about 5'6" with a slender build and long legs as well as shapely limbs. She has wheat coloured skin with golden brown hair that is usually up in a bun. Her wheat brown eyes are always showing disapproval of some sort, but she isn't disapproving of everything around her. She usually wears casual clothes and earthy colours. She currently works as a cereal maker in the home. (Fun fact: Her Latin name, Ceres, gave us the word cereal.)

Athena:
Athena is very tall, standing at about 5'10" with a slim athletic build. She has long, strong limbs that she uses much to her advantage when it comes to sparing with her multiple partners. Her skin is the shade of an olive, perfectly tanned, and her stunning gray eyes always pop out at people when they pass by; she has black hair that falls to about shoulder length and usually in a ponytail, pigtail, or any type of bun. She usually wears business-like clothing whenever she's at home for some reason. She is currently a martial art's instructor in the nearby town.(Special thanks to my mother for making her a martial arts instructor.)

Dionysus:
Dionysus is a rather fat man standing at about 5'6". He's round and plump with red, apple cheeks, and he always looks like Santa Clause with his curly, snow white beard that falls to about chest length. He has naturally pale skin, but he isn't as pale as Hades. He has curly, snow white hair that falls to about chin length and somewhat connects with his beard; his eyes are a dark purple shade. He usually wears loose clothing, and he's pretty much happy with anything that isn't tight. He works as a legalizing marijuana lobbyist.(Thanks to my mother for the idea of a legalizing marijuana lobbyist xD You can tell that my family and I have the same crude sense of humour, can't you? Also, if that isn't allowed on CS then I will change it to something else.)

Apollo: (Also known as Apoolo and Apolllo to me.)
Apollo is, what a teenage girl would call, the perfect type of guy. He's tall, standing at about 6', with a slight build and a perfect tan. He has a smile that could easily make a girl faint if he tried enough, and he is beautiful without working at it. He has bright, laughing blue eyes that always show happiness, but he can have depths of darkness within his gaze. His hair is short and curly, coming to about ear length, with sun-kissed blonde hair. He usually wears sleeveless shirts, shorts, and leather sandals. He runs a suntan place called "Apollo's Kiss". (Thanks to my mother for making him a suntan place owner.)

Artemis:
Artemis comes to about 5'4", short compared to her brother, with a slim, athletic build and somewhat broad shoulders compared to most girls. Her skin is pearly with a pale skin tone compared to her brother. Her hair is short, about chin length, and mahogany brown with random streaks of silver and gold throughout her hair. She has silver-gray eyes that are always full of kindness and love. She usually wears comfortable clothes and dislikes wearing tight clothing. She currently works as a professional dog walker.

Ares:
Ares is the tough guy that you would expect from the mythological books, but he does flee when he gets a petty injury from a sparing fight with Athena or something along those lines. He stands at about 6'2" with a barrel-like chest and powerful, strong limbs. His legs are somewhat stubby; he is very graceful despite that. He usually wears tight leather clothing or anything that makes him look all tough, macho, and/or bad. He is currently unemployed.

Aphrodite:
Aphrodite is probably the most gorgeous woman that any man has seen on this world. She stands at a perfect 5'6" with all the right curves in all the right places, a perfect hourglass body, and a to die for smile. Her skin is a soft, pearly white that compliments her figure all too well. She has long, wavy blonde hair that falls to about shoulder blade length (Her hair changes colours based on the way she feels) with stunning, vivid blue eyes. She wears tight shirts that always compliments her figures as well as tight jeans and other such things. She currently works as a hairstylist, but she wishes to become a model someday.

Hephaestus:
Many would probably ask why Hephaestus is married to Aphrodite with the way he looks. He originally stands at about 6'0 but due to the fact that he is a cripple and lame, he hunches over at 5'8". He's a muscular man with strong, broad shoulders and meaty hands that are always calloused due to working at the mechanics all day. He somehow turned out to look like an African American with dark, wrinkly skin. He has black, curly hair that falls to about shoulder length, and he decided to trim his beard away. He usually wears anything that he can get his hands on at the time. He currently works as a car mechanic.

Hermes:
Hermes is a youthful looking god that stands at about 5'10" with an athletic somewhat lanky appearance, but he is a very graceful god. His facial structure is a triangular build, making it a bit sharper compared to the other god's facial structure. He has fair skin that is leaning more on the tan side than anything. His hair is curly blonde, like his older brother Apollo's, and he has blue-gray eyes that look a lot like iron. He usually wears athletic ware even when he's off duty. He currently works as a mailman, and he does run triathlons when he gets the time to.

Terminology:
A list of terminology that you should probably get to know.

Peasant-The terms that Royal Bloods and the gods use to describe a normal cat.
Royal Blood-Term that the gods use when describing Messengers and Guardians against Peasants.
Half-Bloods-Term that's used with Messengers and Guardians use when a wolf or cat is born of both Peasant blood and Royal Blood. The cat or wolf who births or sires a Half-Blood is automatically banned from their job as Guardian or Messenger while the Half-Blood is killed.
Traitors-This term is used for multiple reasons but the main one being a cat who hangs out with Peasants. The other usage of this term is used when a cat or wolf births/sires a Half-Blood or when Royal Blood animals become Peasants.
Slug-Insult used when Messengers or Guardians do their job slowly; used by both Royal Bloods and gods.
Head Messenger-The top two Messengers, one male and one female without them being mates, that do the bigger jobs for the god that they work for. An example would be Zeus' Head Messengers whipping up some small storms.
Top Messengers-The top two Messengers, one male and one female without them being mates, that are the best-of-the-best out of all Messengers. They make sure that Messengers and Guardians keep themselves in check with their jobs ordered to them by the gods.
Boss-Term that Messengers and Guardians use for the god they work for.

I will get more terms up as the role-play goes along.

About:
This is the about page for Messengers, Guardians, and such. If you have any questions then please send them to me via PM.

Messengers:

Messengers are strictly house cats that are usually picked up off the streets, as they are hardier than cats that are raised by humans. Sometimes, yet rarely, if the circumstances are dire than Guardians will pick up cats take cats from their human owners. Most of the time, Messengers are picked up at the age of six months when the gods will start accepting cats to be a Messenger. The gods rarely make any exceptions for cats under the age of six months.

When cats do become Messengers, their whole lives change; it's a good change though. They become immortal, usually taking on the appearance of an adult, young adult, or teenage cat (Very rarely do they take on the appearance of a kitten.) They earn the ability to understands and talk to the gods, and they also earn the ability to talk to Guardians as well as understand them; they can understand normal humans, but they cannot talk to them. They are also granted minor one power that is relative to the god that they work for (Aka Messengers who work for Zeus cannot tell whom is in love and whom isn't like an Aphrodite cat could.) Also, their appearance is changed based on the god that they work for.

The name Messengers actually doesn't fit the workers quite well, as they send messages to others for the gods very rarely. Actually, their main jobs are to do chores that the god they work for get lazy with doing. Examples would be Zeus' Messengers would whip up small storms somewhere, Aphrodite's Messengers would cause love and heartbreak to start amongst people, Demeter's Messengers would grow crops, and so on and so forth. What the cats don't do is run amongst finding the gods mortals to flirt with and such.

When Messengers are off on their jobs, they are pampered by the gods when they have their time off. They roam the house, sleep, do whatever they want to do. Often, their boss that they work for will scratch them and pamper them like royalty whenever they have time off to hang out with them.

Messengers are eligible to retire after fifty years of serving their boss. When they retire, they are sent to watch the kittens, or the cats that have not yet been picked out by the gods or are too young to start working, and take care of them. They are still treated like normal Messengers, but they are more respected by newcomers.

Guardians:

Guardians are usually wolves, but there are sometimes other canines that can work for the gods. They are picked especially by the gods, as they work directly for the gods when it comes to finding Messengers. It's really a strange thing that happens, as the wolf or dog just disappears from where they are and end up in the gods' house completely tamed and with heightened senses. Also, there is one Guardian per a god.

Guardians are rarely off on their jobs, as they have many things to do around the house. Their main job is finding Messengers, but they also protect the house as their name implies. They are also the story keepers to the young kittens of the house and keepers of the peace. They often break up fights that happen amongst Guardians and Messengers as well as amongst the gods.

Guardians are allow to retire after working for seventy years for the god they specifically work for. They turn more into story keepers and keepers of the peace more than anything.

Rules of Messengers and Guardians: (Meant to be broken)
-If you are the bearer or you sire a Half-Blood and the gods find out then you are stripped of your position then turned back into a Peasant.
-No bringing Peasants into the house.
-Only cats of six months may be a Messenger; same with Guardians.
-No going into the attic.
