Even in places like the desert life flourishes, just look at all the snakes, cacti, and lizards inhabiting holes in sand dunes.
In deep ocean where no light reaches, life goes on there too.
The most obious place you'd expect life is with humans, but outside of those cities and towns there is land in risk of being stripped of its trees so more cities and towns can be built.
That is why Ice Cold was built. Ice Cold is run by people who has been inhabiting the land for generations.
This National park expands over a large portion of the Northern Canadian forests.
Deer, skunks, rabbits, bears, mountian lions, cougers, bob cats, hawks, and many other species make up the life in the Park. The majority however are wolves.
Even within these safer walls, hunters sneak in to hunt during a bad season, winters are cold and harsh and there are food shortages from time to time. How will one survive?
