Scarpelt woke up and walked out of the den. She shook her black fur to rid it of extra moss peices and other things stuck to her pelt. She streched her back leg then looked up at the sky. "Hmm I might have overslept a little."
Snowstar opened her eyes dreamily. A cold breeze drifted through the sky and the leader sniffed. She didn't feel too well. Sneezing, Snowstar jumped to her feet and slowly trotted towards the medicine den. "Hazelnight?" She called, sniffing. Whatever she had, it probably wouldn't be that bad. A cold, that's it.
Silverpaw jumped out of the apprentices' den. Immediately, he felt great as he danced in six directions. What could calm him down? Silverpaw made his way towards Goldenmist. "Hey!" He piped up. "Can I go hunting with you? I don't think I can alone since I'm not a warrior!" The young apprentice suddenly looked up at the sky and smiled. A warrior, he thought. I hope Sparrowstar doesn't call me Silvertail or something stupid like that.
{Oh yes, who would like to mentor an apprentice? :3 Silverpaw, Foxpaw, and Icepaw.}
Goldenmist looked at his,slightly amused by his behavior. "Sure. I could use some hunting." She padded quietly into the forest. Every piece of hair on her pelt stod on end as she tried to scent for prey.
Silverpaw smiled and bounded off into the forest. He paused, sniffing the air, and tried to freeze. Silverpaw wasn't that good at freezing. He slipped and fell on his side, scaring whatever prey he had scented. Oops... Today wasn't the best day for the apprentice. Stumbling to his feet, Silverpaw looked back at Goldenmist, expecting a harsh rely from his mentor.
Goldenmist layed a gental tail on his paw. "You must be more stealthy Silverpaw. It's the only way you won't have prey running from you." Her eyes seemed preoccupied as she looked around.
Silverpaw. "I know. My paw slipped, that's all." He sniffed the air, hoping to catch a whiff of at least a frog, but everything was scared off. Mouse-brained, clumsy Silverpaw had scared all the prey away. Good job, he thought sarcastically. "There's nothing here now," Silverpaw stated flatly. "Let's go somewhere else."
Snowstar nodded, sniffing. "Of course Scarpelt," she sneezed. Licking her paws, Snowstar waited quietly outside the medicine cats' den. "Hazelnight!" She called out, waiting impatiently for a reply. Why wasn't Hazelnight answering? Snowstar was beginning to become rather tired of waiting.
