Story

Rain descended from the sky in icy sheets. A ferocious gale of wind made the trees creak and sway slightly. Thick, dark gray clouds hovered in the sky. A bright flash of lightning split the sky, followed by booming thunder that echoed through the forest. A lithe shape swiftly tore through brambles and bushes, as if in a rush, not caring to avoid obstacles. The creature was panting, lungs screaming for air, breath freezing in the crisp air. It's drenched white pelt was plastered to it's sides, ears lay flat, and golden brown eyes were wild with fear. The pretty she-wolf was closely followed by a larger male wolf, a multicolored lupine who's hazel eyes gleamed balefully and massive glinting fangs were showing from powerful gaping jaws. Several times the brute leaped forward, snapping his jaws at the fae, trying to bite her, but to no avail.

The female was cornered as the male chased her into a dark cave. They could only be seen when lightning lit up the cave. As the lightning continued, the male could be seen inching towards the female, snickering. Finally, darkness grew thickly around them. There was a loud snarl, and a scream. The next crack of lightning showed the male with blood staining his muzzle and a pool of scarlet forming around the she-wolf's limp body, the fur around her throat dyed red.

The male slipped out of the cave and threw back his massive head, parting his jaws in a victorious howl. He was cut off short by a growl as loud as thunder. He swung his head around, seeing piercing golden-brown eyes, much like that of the now dead female's, peering at him through the heavy shelter of brambles. The eyes seemed to be glowing faintly. Then they disappeared. The male growled quietly, ears swiveling. Then a smirk formed on his face. Silently, the brute crawled off, and plunged into the river south of the cave.

Plot

The Lumen Pack and the Atra Pack have been at war for three years now, since the bloodthirsty Alpha of the Atra Pack, Silenn, murdered the Beta of the Lumen Pack. But that's not the first time Silenn and his pack were responsible for deaths of wolves that belong to the Lumen Pack. Vesp, the Alpha of the Lumen Pack, was the first to launch a ruthless assault, which was quite surprising to everyone because he values peace and serenity. However, this isn't just a wolf war Rp. There's a bit of a fantasy twist. These wolves are... mutated, I suppose you could say, in a way. They possess powers. No, they're not all-powerful gods, but the abilites they carry prove useful. So, it's up to you. Either join the murderous and sadistic Atra Pack, ruled by the sinister and baleful Silenn, or the Lumen Pack, lead by Vesp, who are determined to drive the Atra Pack from Arasuka(the forest they live in) forever.

Rules
• Try to keep genders even.
• Try to keep an even amount of wolves in each pack.
• No killing/force mating without both user's agreement.
• No power-playing or god-modding; I know you guys have powers and what not, but seriously!
• No flawless characters. Period.
• Be active. If you don't post for a week I will remove you.
• Listen to the Owner(me) and Co-Owners(I choose).
• Listen to the alphas most of the time.
• No details in mating/birthing.
• Max of six wolves to start with.
• No text talk.
• This is semi-literate. AT LEAST five sentences per post, per character. I believe writers block is fake; your just being lazy. Besides, even if you have 'writers block' you should be able to type five sentences. This also means good grammar, punctuation, spelling and such. I won't always have a spell checker, so don't say I'm breaking my own rules if there's a mistake. xD

Lumen Pack rules
• Listen to Alpha.
• Elders and nursing females eat first.
• Do not kill--period--without direct orders from the Alpha.
• Intruders are to be chased off the territory.
• You may have friends in the Atra Pack, but not mates, as one day you may meet them in battle and be expected to fight them.
• Prey is to be caught and eaten. It's not a chew toy.
• Do not harm a puppy under any circumstances.
• No not tresspass, let alone hunt, on any territory but the Lumen Pack's.
• Only use your powers in battle or unless ordered to, unless using them for the good of others.

Atra Pack rules
• Listen to and obey Alpha without any hint of hesitation.
• Alpha(s) eats first.
• Intruders are to be attacked and captured for the Alpha to decide their fate.
• No kind of relationships whatsoever with wolves in the Lumen Pack.
• Discipline puppies or Trainees if neccesary.
• Do not hunt or tresspass on Lumen Pack's territory... without telling the Alpha first.

Rank Explanations

Alpha

The Alpha is the male leader of the pack and the Alphess's mate. He often has a little more authority over the Alphess, but not always. The Alpha makes the laws and enforces them. He chooses the ranks of the wolves, denies or accepts new wolves, and decides on punishments, demotions, and promotions of ranks. He will consult with the Alphess, if there is one, to talk about it, but in the end, he makes the ultimate decision. The Alpha will usually pass on his rank to his kin so long as there is no Alphess, but if no kin is old enough or wise enough to lead or if there is no Alphess, the position will go to the Beta and/or Betess. If he dies and there is an Alphess, she takes complete control over the pack until she chooses a new mate.

Alphess

The Alphess is the mate of the Alpha and is slightly less dominant that him. The Alphess is either the Alpha's mate, or she was given the position of Alphess because she was Betess or worthy kin of the Alpha. The Alphess usually does not decide who replaces her and/or the Alpha, but if her mate dies, she takes the job of both Alpha and Alphess. The Alphess's job is basically to aid the Alpha in enforcing the law and helping him make decisions. She is also basically the Alpha's heir.

Beta

The Beta is the second-in-command male. If there is no Alphess or Alpha, he will often help and assist the Alpha/Alphess. But mostly, he carries out the Alpha's orders, and organizes patrols. Other than the Alphess and kin of the Alpha, the Beta is basically the heir to the position of and sometimes, if they are older and wiser of even kin that is perfectly capable of taking the position, the Beta will be given the rank of Alpha simply because they are a more experienced leader. In the absense of the Alphas and Alphess, so long as they are not dead, he will take control long with the Betess until the Alpha and Alphess return.

Betess

The Betess is basically the female version of the Beta. She is the second-in-command female. She is either the Beta's mate or has been picked to be Betess by the Alpha and/or Alphess. The Betess and the Beta share the same amount of authority.

Elite Sentinels

There can be only four Elite Sentinels, and the wolves are of either gender. Basically, these wolves Guard the higher ranking wolves at night and in the morning when their sleeping. Two guards stand outside the Beta/Betess den and the Alpha/Alphess den.

Sentinels

Sentinels have a slightly different job than the Elite Sentinels. Instead of standing guard, they patrol the outside of the camp and sometimes will stand gaurd at posts. Sentinels switch shifts; ex: One sentinel can replace another one so the one on duty can go and eat and get some rest. Sentinels get up very early. Sometimes, they don't even eat breakfast before taking their posts.

Superior Warrior

The Superior Warrior is basically the Lead Fighter. They're not always the best fighter, but are often the best at coming up with plans and strageties. They plan raids and attacks, and are allowed to order the Warriors around. This position can be a female or male.

Warriors

Warriors are equal to fighters. They excel in fighting and fight in raids and border fights, etc., but are trained in the basics of hunting, as if winter when prey is scarce, every wolf needs to do their part in helping. Warriors accompany Subordinates on border patrols and sometimes even Sentinels.

Superior Hunter

The Superior Hunter is the ead hunter. They are the same thing as a Superior, basically, only they specialize in hunting. They track down the prey and are often the ones to make the kill, going for the throat while most of the hunters bite and snap at their prey's feet to slow them down.

Hunters

This one is pretty self-explanatory. They go on hunting patrols with the Superior Hunter and help take down prey. They are trained in the basics of fighting, so they can fight if there is an invasion that out numbers just the fighters.

Subordinates

Subordinates are usually younger adult wolves, who don't really have a rank, but are part of the pack. They are trained in the basics of fighting and hunting, for, well, you know, everything I've mentioned above in the Hunters and Warriors explanation. They are also the wolves who do the border patrolling.

Medic

There is only on Medic. This wolf specializes in herbs and healing techniques so they can treat injured and sick wolves.

Watchers

These are only female wolves, more than often mothers who are nursing. They help each other babysit and look after the pups, though sometimes other females without pups of their own will step in and help, too.

Trainees

These are puppies that are training to be a Medic, Fighter, Warrior, just whatever they choose. They start training at 5 months old and are usually given an official rank at 12 months. Puppies that do not want to be anythig in particular are trained in fighitng and hunting for two months, then become a Subordinate at 7 months.

Elders

These are elderly wolves, former warriors, hunters, etc., who retire at 11 years old and join the other old lupines. They can be grumpy and impatient, but like to entertain the puppies with fictional and non-fictional stories.

Rogues

Rogues can be two things, each different. A rogue can either be a wolf who was banished from the pack, or a male wolf who captures females and mates with them until he's sure they're pregnant, then leaves them. Sometimes rogues will group together in small packs.

Loners

Loners are wolves without a pack. They have to hunt and fend for themselves and are never in groups. They travel alone, they don't even pair up with another wolf. No friends, no family, just them alone. Period.

The season is later winter/early spring! The snow is still hanging around, but it's getting warmer and the snow is slowly melting away. All is peaceful right now, though you never know when the Atra Pack will launch another attack.

Powers/Abilites

Rage

Rage is both a useful ability and a curse. Basically, if the wolf gets mad enough (like when during a battle) their eyes will glow and they seem to have endless energy with enhanced endurance, as if nothing hurts them. However, they feel like they need to rip apart their enemy completely, and exhaustion grips them as the fury passes. It is very hard to calm them down, but if you do before they kill you or you escape, consider your self lucky. Strength and speed is NOT improved.

Heat

These wolves NEVER get cold, whether their a puppy, an elder, or simply a wolf with thin, short fur. Even if their sick or fell through ice in winter, they always stay warm. In the summer, if they get hot, they can cool themselves off. l These wolves can go longer than the others without food and water, because they draw energy and heat from the sun. They are able to create small flames, but it drains their energy when they do. When they are absorbing heat or trying to spark up some fire, their eyes glow. Their power is at it's height in summer.

Ice

These wolves have the power to freeze water and other things, too. They can create a thin ice sheet around their enemies to slow them down, but their enemies more than often break out of it quickly. They can, like mentioned before, freeze things like water, even plants.

Seers

Seers are wolves who have visions of the future, sometimes the past. However, it isn't very accurate, because wolves are always changing their mind. The visions they have are blurry, too, and the sounds are muffled, so it is difficult to figure out what it was even a vision of. But if you can make out what it was, then be aware of what might happen in the future so long as the wolves in the vision don't change their plans.

Water

These wolves do not manipulate water, so the name of the power is quite misleading. The wolves are basically a fish in a wolf's body. They can breathe under water, are excellent swimmers, better and faster than other wolves. They can also dive very well.

Empathy

These wolves can feel the emotions others are feeling. They can control their power so that they always aren't being overwhelmed with a bunch of different emotions. They only feel the feelings of others when they allow themselves too. So, for example, if one wolf was angry, then the wolf with Empathy would become angry, or at least feel angry, but they still do have their own real emotions mingled with it, so sometimes you can have mixed emotions and it's confusing.

The Atra Pack
The Atra Pack is a power-hungry, bloodthirsty, evil pack. Other words used to describe them are baleful, sadistic, sinister, deadly, and evil. In my opinion, those words describe them perfectly well. If your at least not he slightest bit vengeful or evil, then you won't fit in here. They are desperate for more land and want nothing more to taste the blood of their enemy.
The Atra Pack live in a dark, dense forest, with deep, wide rivers snaking through it. Their main prey is moose and deer. Sometimes they will feed off of squirrels and hares.


The Lumen Pack
The Lumen Pack aren't the bad guys, but they aren't Guru Goody Goodies either. Sometimes they will act war hungry because they are outraged for what the Atra Pack has done; killing wolves, stealing land, tresspassing, and all that jazz. However, they are the good guys in this war, battling for freedom and peace and only that.
The Lumen Pack live a somewhat dry desert like territory, with sagebrush as far as the eye can see and a few trees littered here and there. The "desert" is off the southernmost border of the forest, the trees lessening until it's just sagebrush and small foothills. Some of their territory is in the trees, however, because that's where the bigger prey can be found.

Personality:
Soul is a mysterious wolf. She can be loving and caring when she wants to, but she can also have a smart mouth and temper. She doesn't like to talk about her history and if you bring it up, she will get angry. Soul has an odd personality, and it is almost like she is bipolar. She is secretive and is very good at keeping a secret. She is also blind, but has amazing hearing, smelling, and feeling.
History:
Soul didn't have the best childhood. She was always the smallest and was never good at fighting. She also didn't like people to pick out her blindness, such as making fun of her or anything. She has a good sense of smell and great hearing. When she was a pup, her parents had gotten killed and the attacker was right in front of her, getting ready to kill her. She tried yelping but all she could get out was a squeak. The attacker tried to swipe at her chest, but barely missed so Soul has a long scar going down her chest. Eventually she got away, but she never looked back in far that she would get killed. When she was 2, (14 in dog years) she had found the Lumen pack and she grew to be a medic, happy with her life.
