Silverstar darted backwards so that she ended up facing him, instead of besides him. He cuffed her lightly on the ears, a low growl rumbling in his chest, before he aimed a blow at her flank. "Trust yourself. You know these moves." he instructed, focused intently on the training session as he tried to guess her next move.

Flashcloud heard him before she saw him, and tensed, ready to leap out. Please, please don't hate me for this. She thought, biting her lip. After a moment's hesitation, she bunched her muscles and sprang out in front of Koiflare, blocking his path. "Koiflare!" Realizing they were nose-to-nose, she blushed and backed off, putting distance between them. "Can you just hear me out, okay? I'm sorry about earlier, really. I don't know what I was thinking. It's just that ... " Trailing off, she tried to find the right words. "I miss you. You used to be my best friend, and I want that back, what we had."

Midnightpaw fell back slightly from the blow to her flank, but shook it off. Blinking, the ebony she-cat growled and lunged at him again. Fighting was not her forte; hunting was. {WB for her x.x}

Koiflare blinked at Flashcloud, his once bright green eyes dimmed with confusion and pain. "I do miss how close we used to be, but all that changed when I became Deputy. I had more responsibilities to tackle, more duties to attend to; just so much more work, and I hardly got to see you. Sometimes I wish I had never become Deputy," he paused, glancing down at the ground, "that way I could still be as close to you as we used to be, but I can't abandon Silverstar. I just can't have both!" he growled, swatting at the ground and kicking up some dust. More like feelings have changed and I just can't tell you. Especially after today.

Caught off guard, the leader staggered slightly from her blow, but held his ground. Narrowing his eyes, he snaked out a paw and lunged forwards, hoping to trip up Midnightpaw. {Blah, WB too. x.x}

A mixture of pain and confusion flashed in her green eyes. "Don't say that! You deserve to be deputy, everyone knows that." Shuffling her paws on the ground, she gazed up at him innocently, unprepared for his next words. "Wait, what? You can't have both? What's that supposed to mean?" Backing away slightly, she felt her fur bristling as she confronted the tom. "But you can, I mean, it's not like you have to chose between Silverstar and me. We can still see each-other, on patrols and stuff ..." Trailing off, she let out a gasp of horror. How could I have been so foolish? I never noticed at first, but ... Has he been avoiding me? No. Koiflare wouldn't do that. It would explain why he's been acting so strange, though. "Oh. Oh. I - I understand now. You don't want to be my friend any more, do you?" Half-hurt, half-angered, she turned and fled into camp, lips drawn back in the beginnings of a snarl.

Koiflare just stood and stared as Flashcloud fled back into camp. His eyes were now completely clouded over in pain, trying to process in his mind what had just happened. No...you're only half-right. I don't want you to be my friend, no. I want you to be more than that. If you had only let me explain... He thought. Slowly, he began to follow after her, increasing his pace every so often until he broke out into a full-out run. "Flashcloud!"

Hearing his paw-steps following her, she whipped around and hissed at him. "Leave me alone, Koiflare! I don't want to see you right now." Glaring at him, she rushed into the Medicine Cat's den, sending a pile of herbs flying. "Specklewing?" she called uncertainly, searching for her friend(?). "Oh, sorry about that. I'll just ... " Trailing off, she began to clear up the mess she made, tail-tip lashing back and forth in frustration. "You see, I just need to talk to you right now. My life is pretty messed up." Flashcloud let out a low sigh, pausing in her work and studying her paws. "It's a tom. What else?"

Aspenpaw let out a sneeze, stirring from her nap and groaning as she noticed it was past sun-high. Hoping her mentor wasn't around, she crept into the apprentice's den. "Hey! Frostpaw!" she hissed, prodding the she-cat with a paw. "Wake up, lazybones." Grinning, the boisterous apprentice scampered out of the den, waiting for the other apprentice to follow. Watching Tanglepaw as he dozed, she rolled her eyes and turned away, padding over to the fresh-kill pile. Hum. Mousewhisker doesn't seem to be around, so I doubt I'll train today. Thank StarClan! Perhaps I should do some hunting though.

Specklewing sighed when her friend knocked over the once neatly stacked herbs. "I guess it's alright." she muttered, padding over to help pick up some of the fallen herbs. "So a Tom huh? What's the problem this time? I'm sure I can work my...magic...and help you out." she purred, glancing up at the ginger and white she-cat with her rare violet eyes.

Frostpaw slitted open her eyes, wondering why she had been woken up. So much for getting rest after the dawn patrol. She thought, rolling over onto her side and blinking her minty green eyes. After a moment, she got up to stretch before padding out of the den and into the light. "Aspenpaw?" she called, glancing around before finally noticing her by the fresh kill pile. Padding over, she yawned and glanced down at the pile, "So what have you been doing all this time?" she asked.

A wearily relieved smile spread over her face. "Thanks, Specklewing." she murmured gratefully, stepping back and allowing the Medicine Cat to finish the task. "Well, you see, it's Koiflare. You know how we were old friends and stuff? I want to be ... close to him again, but I think he's been avoiding me. And then I sort of nuzzled him, and I think he took it the wrong way. Now we've had a major argument, and I'm pretty sure he hates me now. Ugh." Flopping down in an empty nest, she stretched out in a comfortable position and rested her chin on her paws.

Watching as Frostpaw padded out of the apprentice's den, Aspenpaw patted the space besides her, inviting her friend to join. "Oh, I've been napping." She chose to leave out the part about Tanglepaw, to avoid any rumours spreading. Pawing through the prey pile, she selected a mouse and settled down to eat. "Y'know, I'm thinking of going hunting soon. You wanna come? We can get a few others, make it a group outing. Just for fun."

Specklewing glanced over at Flashcloud and rolled her eyes. "Sweetie, I hate to break it to you, but you really are blind." she purred with a giggle. "Believe me, I've witnessed the eyes of admirers before and honey, you have a big one on your paws." she meowed, setting a pile of newly stacked herbs back into their previous spot.

Frostpaw grabbed a small vole for herself and settled down across from Aspenpaw. "Sounds like fun. Who should we bring? Not many Apprentices are around right now, and I don't know if any Warriors would want to come with us." she meowed, taking a bit and swallowing it quickly. "Uh, I know Tanglepaw is around, but he hardly does anything."

Flashcloud nodded distractedly, half-paying attention, more focused on Koiflare. "Wait, what?" Snapping out of her daydream, she stared at Specklewing, a startled expression on her face. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Her ears flattened against her head slightly as she considered the possibility. "No, he couldn't possibly ... Maybe? Oh, my gosh. Wow. I don't know what to do now. I'm practically a saint, compared to you, if you know what I mean." Groaning to herself, she buried her face in her paws. But I don't have feelings for him! She thought, half-heartedly.

Aspenpaw pursed her lips. "Should we wait for Blackpaw and his patrol to return?" she asked, in between mouthfuls of her prey. Once she finished eating, she buried the remains and stretched out on her belly, a contented purr rumbling in her throat. "So, what's new with you?" At the moment, she had nothing better to do than gossip.

Specklewing sighed and sat next to Flashcloud. "I'm surprised you didn't recognize it sooner. A kit could've seen what he felt for you." she murmured, letting her violet gaze peer out of the den as she noticed Koiflare pad out of camp again. Just great. A depressed, half-sane Deputy. Just what we need around here. She thought bitterly, looking back at Flashcloud. "Honey, I gotta ask. Do you like him as much as he likes you?"

Frostpaw shrugged, "I dunno if Blackpaw would even want to come. Grumpy Tom that he is." she grumbled, taking a large bit from her prey. "Anything new? Honestly, no. No one will fight me anymore so things have gotten boring. I don't even have any new scars to parade around with!" she mewed, shaking her head.
