Siela simply lay there, the fire burning away the strands of her tail, the flames inching closer and closer, threatening to finish her off. Come on, kill me. You've never held back before, she thought. Images flashed through her mind: the wildfire that killed her parents, her herd... she was only a young filly... so much blood and pain and screaming. The only other horse that survived was her brother, Sol, but she didn't know if he was alive; they had been seperated. But she guessed that when you were about to die, time went by slowly, making her suffer from the pain. It was a wonder how she hasn't died yet; either from suffocating, being too exhausted, or bleeding out. And the fire seemed to be taking it's own sweet time to reach her, as if it was compelled to keep her alive, to make her suffer.
All Siela could do was wait. Wait for a rescuer, wait for her death. The fire on her tail crawled up it, and now about half of her tail was gone. Her eyes fluttered, half of her wanting to surrender to sleep and rest so could she simply die, the other half forcing her to keep consiciousness just in case, by some miracle, someone did come. Seconds passed, seconds that seemed to lengthen into minutes and hours, but not even a minute more had passed until something remarkable happened. Something that made Siela almost jump up and start dancing with joy, and if she had the strenght and energy to, she probably would have. Through the flames came the golden stallion and just as the fire on her tail began to lick at her butt he had stomped it out. Now only about two inches of her tail remained. It didn't matter to her.
"Coy..." Siela rasped hoarsely, and for once, her honey colored eyes softened and she actually... smiled. A very small one, but it was there. "You came." She was both shocked and overjoyed that help had come, and both expressions could be found on her face. She was surprised he came. Did he hear the whinny? Or did he just come back to see where she was and come and find her? "And my nme is Siela," she introduced herself. Of course, this wasn't the best time to introduce herself, but she sure as heck didn't like being addressed as 'mare' and she figured she might as well tell him her name since he didn't seem to be backing off. But she was glad he came. She was glad he had been persistent and stayed in the forest long enough to get to her in time to save her. For once in her life, she was actually glad to be with a stallion.
