(I poofed to take a shower now I is back! But how the heck am I going to reply to your awesome post?!)
Coy heard the scrabbling of hooves and saw a shower of stones. Good she made it out...But the relief was short lived as his golden head flew up in alarm, he had smelled the deadly scent of smoke. Stay in the ravine! His good sense screamed at him. The fire doesn't have enough tinder to ignite here and the smoke will go above you! He whirled on his hindquarters and galloped back down the trail that had brought him back to here he had started. As he thundered down the ravine, towards the place he had rolled in earlier today, he heard the most horrible noise, a shrill raspy whinny. That mare! Who else could it be?
He quickly switched his direction and turned a sharp right. There it is! He spotted a trail made up of hard packed pebbles, he leapt upward and got a purchase on the stones. He scrambled the rest of the way up and with one swing of his head he saw the fire and where it was heading. At the recent memory of that whinny he did the unthinkable, he charged towards the raging fire. He leapt over a flaming branch and galloped in front of the fire as it roared on. He laid out the territory in his mind and racked his brain for a place where he thought Siela would go. The measly river, wasn't that was around here? He shakes his head and didn't notice as the tips of his long mane caught on fire, he turned away from his path and ran along parallel to the fire.
He burst in to a clearing and began to cough, he hadn't really noticed the smoke that he was running through. "Mare? Hello?" He trumpeted hoarsely and stumbled through a bramble brush. His entire being relaxed as he saw a faint strip of blue ahead, Coy snorted and a cloud of ash flew away from his muzzle. Coughing once again he cantered toward the fleeting light and after many painful minutes he came upon the river. Yes, finally! He stumbled into the cooling water and closed his eyes, he was so relived that he din't even notice that he was falling until he hit the water. He opened his eyes to see everything wavy, he tried to snort and found the only thing that came from that were bubbles. The panicked stallion thrashed about until he was above water again but, alas, the first thing to greet him was the smoke. Clean and all fire that had singed his mane and tail extinguished Coy got to his feet and trotted down stream with the current.
Light was up ahead and this mustered some happiness from the bedraggled stallion, he cantered down the river and rounded the bend.... Only to see, to his horror, that the light was a flaming tree. "No!" He croaked out and waded to the bank he looked around to see where the fire was now, but he saw something flaming on the ground, maybe a branch. If that started a fire he would be trapped, and above the roar of the flames his heart-braking cry rose with the smoke into the sky. He stomped out of the water to go stamp out the branch thing's fire, only to see it was a horse. "Oh my gosh... mare?" His throat felt like it was only a bunch of strips of flesh but he managed to get the words out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(back to horrible rping.... XD Essence- you are so evil!)(Poor Night Song she's clueless and can't hear!)
Night Song was confused at all the horses running away from the night songs. They draw horses in they don't send them running. Then the mare saw her first fire, she reared in fright and whirled around to follow the others.
Ria lifted her head from grazing as horses streaked by. "Fire!" She screamed and followed them, soon getting lost among the other mustangs.
Shi bucked as he saw and smelled smoke. "Sage we need to go there is a fire." He kept his voice calm with a lot of effort and his ears flicked all around to listen to other horses.
