Luna wondered what the other mare was so depressed-looking about. "Well, gosh. I was simply advicing you to calm down a little. I don't know what you are so loud about all the time" she said, turning in her stall to dip her delicate nose in her water bucket, drinking thoughtfully. was it what she said?

Asha and Mari

Mari would have squealed with delight, but she knew to mind her mother. Asha seemed to have a method for everyuthing. She swung her small trunk and studied the smaller calf in front of her. Avni looked different from mari and her mother, but at the same time, exactlyu the same.

Asha flapped her ears to cool herself off and walked slowly to Avni and her own calf. She used her trunk and swepot it across Avni's head lightly, in a way that should tickle. She wanted Avni to feel that she could treat Asha like her own mother, so she treated the calf like her own daughter. Afterall, this calf was to stay permanately, right?

(Bit of a lazy post, sorry. What kind of elephant si Avni, African?)

"You didn't advise me to calm down. You called me nuts." Feather said calmy. She kept her tail to her stall door. Her head still low, tail still, eyes closed., ears droopy. She sighed & took a step towards the water bucket. She drank a small amount before going back to her original position. 'How could she?' Thought Feather. 'She's hated me, right from the start, but why?' She asked herself. She shifted her weight & breathed slowly, taking in the chilly autumn air.
