Hoofprints In The Sand (Semi-Lit / Open - Accepting)

[Frost~]

Melody nodded, understanding the pain she was going through. She lost her mate once. No, they didn't mate with each other yet, but they were about to. Then it all went bad. Wranglers came, and caught him. That was when she was only 4 yrs old. Now she is 6. The thought of losing her mate again haunts her.
She doesn't want to be just another mare.
One that just roams around.
One without a mate.

Crimson looked up,"I'm fine. It stings a little but it isn't that bad." she said and then continued eating.

Jor smiled and pressed his pelt against her,"I won't." he said then nuzzled her. He looked at Nira,"Its okay. Listen, I have a deal for you. If you join my herd I promis I personaly won't breed you if you don't want me to. You may go away for a few days and find another male to breed with then you can come back." he said then smiled at her,"I'm not like Thunder. I won't do somthing crule like that to you." he said and put his nose to her forhead in a freindly manner then turned,"If you want, you may follow." he nickered.

[Frost~]

Melody nodded. She turned around, and started walking with Jor. She hoped Nira would follow. If they were to survive, they needed a larger herd. They needed mares, and foals.
She whispered in Jor's ear,
"You know, I don't mind if you mate with her. We need mares and foals.
Like I said, just don't love her like you love me."

Jor nuzzled her side,"I know, its just for her sake. I don't know if she wants me to and I would never force it." he said kindly and niped at her chin.

Nira smiled slightly at Jor,
"Thank you," she said, "That's very kind of you."
She stood up and followed after Jor and Melody.
Perhaps getting kick out of Thunder's herd was for the best, she thought. I won't have to put up with so much heartbreak.

Delphi lifted her head from grazing and scented the air. She looked back at Crimson and Thunder.
"We should probably keep moving. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this earlier but there is a small wolf pack that likes to move from island to island. I think they're on the island now farther to the South. If we keep going North we may be able to avoid any trouble with them. They're unusually bold for wolves," she said.

[Frost~]

Melody nodded. "I know. But she will come running to you, since you are so handsome."

Thunder nodded. "I know, but we can't travel with a newborn foal. It's to risky." he nickered.

[amithethird]

Delphi nodded,
"I know, but I think staying here might be even more risky. At leas tnow we can move at a leasurly pace so the foal can keep up but if we stay here and the wolves find us then we'll have to run and the foal won't be able to keep up then. Of course it's your decision what we do but I'm just saying, moving might be the best option." she said.

[Frost~]

Thunder nodded. "I will think about it."

Delphi nodded,
"I've lived here for a while, I adivse that we keep moving. Of course it's up to you but that's just my experience," she said. She lowered her head to graze.

Crimson stood and listened to the two,"How meny wolves are there usually?" she asked and lifted her head from grazing,"I'v fought wolves before. The trick it to keep your neck away from then." she said then turned slightly,
"We have a large enogh herd to fend them off. Don't fret, you arn't alone anymore." she said with a gentle smile at the mare.

Jor waked into the forest with Melody by his side and Nira following. He glaced back at her,"When are you due?" he asked and stoped in a clearing with a few small apple trees.
