As he chomped up the last of the delicious fat he heard a voice. A feminine voice. His head pulled up to see a black, fluffy female dog standing right there. In the bosses' alley-way. Obviously new. But he didn't show hostility. Besides, she said stranger, she obviously didn't know of the bosses. The brute heaved himself up and said calmly, "Hello, young one. I take it your new here? I'm Koru, one of the three bosses of this city."

Riya awaited patiently for him to finish his meal. However her stomach growled in protest of her not jumping in and devouring it herself. She'd been roaming the streets the past couple of days, learning how to live freely; avoiding dangers and feeding herself. The setting was all new to her but she quickly caught on to finding the best places to fill her empty stomach.

To her surprise the stranger was calm and kind. Knowledge of the city provided to her told her that most were defensive and not the nicest dogs around. Especially when it comes to food. "Hello young one... I'm Koru, one of the three bosses of this city.." Young? She was quite older then most she'd seen around town. Bosses of the city? Her heart dropped a bit. She was trying to escape the order and laws and rules... And here she was, running straight into a boss. Which must be someone of high authority. Not wanting to stir up trouble already Riya decided to respect whatever government was going on here.

"Salutations to you then, Boss Koru." She dipped her head in respect. "Tell me, how does this city run? I would hate to run into any trouble.. "

The brute looked over the female stray. Black, very furry, grey muzzle and the usual dark brown eyes. He licked his muzzle before responding, "How the city works? Survival of the fittest. There weren't three bosses before the Ferals invaded. Only one. And that one only kept the city in order and kept all the strays safe. Hard for one dog. Since the ferals came, the strays needed more to help lead them through desperate measures. There aren't any rules of the city, merely live." He blinked, looking down at his paws. He had imagined some of the fat to be left behind but none remained. He looked back up and said softly, "I'm sorry, but I didn't get your name."
