Rituals:
The Gathering: By will of StarClan, all 4 clans meet peacefully at FourTrees.
Birth of Kits: Leader calls the clan to celebrate the birth of kits, leader will then name the kits.
Promotion to Apprentice: When a kit is 6 moons old it becomes an apprentice. The leader calls the clan together and changes the kit's name, and also appoints a mentor.
Promotion to Warrior: When an apprentice finishes it's training it will become a warrior. The Leader will change their name, and honor their mentor.
Promotion to Mentor: When a warrior and a kit are ready to, they will become mentor and apprentice. Mentors will teach apprentices all the things a warrior needs to know, so that someday the apprentice may pass on that knowledge to another kit.
Promotion to Medicine Cat: In order to be a medicine cat, the cat must train under the current medicine cat. When ready, the 2 cats will take a trip to HighStone on their own. Here the apprentice receives the gift of visions.
Promotion to Deputy: When a Deputy dies or has some other reason to be released from position (betrayal of clan, murder of another cat, etc), a new deputy must be chosen before sunset.
Promotion to Leader: When a leader passes away or steps down, the deputy will become leader. The deputy must take a lonely mission to HighStone to share tongues with StarClan. Here the deputy will receive their 9 lives.
Sharing Tongues: This is your average daily ritual, the cats of the clan gather and lay by each other 'sharing tongues', in other words, bathing each other.
Name Change: When a cat becomes an elder they may receive a new name to honor a battle scare or physical trait that the cat may be known by. A name change may occur on rare occasions that the leader sees fit, these emergency name changes are able to be performed on any cat.
Leader Duties/Perks:
Promotion Ceremonies: The Leader must hop onto the HighRock and say the words, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the High Rock for a Clan meeting." In emergencies, the greeting may be shorter. After this the leader will announce the promotion, give the new name (if there is one) and the cat receiving will bow their head, the leader will lick their forehead, and the cat will lick the leader's shoulder.

Deputy: "The time has come to appoint a new deputy. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. __________ will be the new deputy."
Medicine Cat: "_______________, is it your wish to enter into the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?"
"It is."
"Then come forward. Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the life of medicine cat. Grant her your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance to your will."
Warrior: "I, _____star, leader of ____Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She/he has trained hard to under stand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him/her to you as a warrior in his/her turn. _____paw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name: _____paw, from this moment on you will be known as _________. StarClan honors your _____ and your _____ and we welcome you as a full warrior of ____Clan."

Apprentice: "From this day forward, until he/she has earned his/her warrior name, this apprentice will be called _____paw. ______, _________________________________. May you pass down all you know to this your apprentice."
Note: During the long blanks, the leader says who the mentor of the apprentice is, and says a sentence or two about the mentors skills, virtues, etc. Usually kept brief.
Elder: "___________, is it your wish to give up the name of warrior and go join the elders?"
"It is."
"Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given us. I call upon StarClan to give you many seasons of rest."
Note: Sometimes the warrior name of the cat is changed to suit new features. See Name-Change Ceremony.
Name Change: "Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on, he/she will be known as _______. We honor his/her ______ and ______."

Dying Apprentice Ceremony: "I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He/She has learned the warrior code and has given up his/her life in service of his/her Clan. Let StarClan recieve him/her as a warrior. His/Her name will be __________, because _________. Let StarClan recieve him/her by the name of __________.
Note: This is said when an apprentice that is almost old enough to be a warrior dies/is expected to die before he/she becomes one. This was used in Brightheart/Lostface's case.
New Member Announcements:
Nine Lives: When a deputy becomes a leader, they go to High Stone to share tongues with StarClan and receive their nine lives. Only one account of losing all 9 lives in 1 attack has ever been seen, (The leader of BloodClan killing TigerStar).
Deputy Duties/Perks:
Patrol Organizing: The deputy has the duty of organizing parties of cats to patrol borders, 3-4 cats per group, sometimes 2.
Hunt Organizing: The deputy has the duty of organizing hunt parties, they are sent out to patrol a little, but mostly to find prey for kill pile.
Leading in Leader's Absence: If the leader has any reason to leave camp, (sharing tongues with starclan, wishing to patrol, meetings, etc) then the deputy is put in charge.
Becoming Leader: As a deputy performs their regular duties, they form a special bond with the leader, if the leader can no longer lead, the deputy is placed in the spot. If the leader cannot lead, the deputy MUST become leader.
Medicine Cat Duties/Perks:
Helping Clan: The Medicine Cat will normally hunt herbs, treat cats, and train their apprentice. Medicine Cats rarely fight.
Training An Apprentice: Passing down everything they know to another cat is a long and tiring process. The apprentice must learn all the herbs, what they treat, the side effects, and other odds and ends to being Medicine Cat.Very little combat training is involved.
Visions: After becoming a Medicine Cat, StarClan will often send visions and warnings to the Medicine Cat through dreams. These dreams are very vague and mysterious.
Queen Duties:
There must always been a queen present in the nursery when there are kits in the clan. If multiple queens have kits at the time, they take turns in intervals to feed and watch kits.
Name Outlines:
Leader Names: A leader will always keep the name their mother gave them, but they will add star to the end. (Exp: A mother names a kit Rose, Rose would someday be RoseStar)
Warrior Names: When an apprentice finishes training, they become a warrior. Warrior cats can have many endings, some are normal like: __Tail, __Fur, __Pelt, etc, (Exp: RosePaw becomes RoseTail). Though some may receive special names, (Exp: RosePaw becomes RoseThorn)
Apprentice Names: When a kit reaches the age of 6 moons, they become an apprentice, and gain Paw as an ending. (Exp: RoseKit will become RosePaw)
Kit Names: The mother gives the kit their original name, and as a kit, their name has kit on the end. (Exp: A mother names the kit Rose, it will be called RoseKit)
Rank Briefing:
Leader: Runs the clan, Speaks for the clan, and nurtures the clan, attends gatherings.
Deputy: Is second in command, takes orders only from the leader and attends gatherings.
Medicine Cat: Treats sick cats, warns the leader of pending doom, and still finds time to eat!
Elder: Retired warriors who don't really do much, and normally acquire either a negative or optimistic attitude.
Mentor: A warrior that has been entrusted with the duty of training an apprentice, very rarely do they get 2.
Warrior: A normal cat who has suffered through apprenticeship to help, protect, and serve the clan.
Apprentice: No longer a kit and are now attempting training! (Wish them luck)
Kit: Newborns, under 6 moons, are not permitted to leave camp unless in emergency, don't do much.
Clan Descriptions:
ShadowClan: Lives in a darker part of the forest, separated by the Thunder Path. They have scarce prey, but have managed to survive this long. Past leaders have been known to be hostile, due to growing up with lack of nourishment.
ThunderClan: Located in a section of well covered forest, they eat vole and mouse mostly. Highest danger of foxes.
RiverClan: Located along the river, eat mostly fish and are excellent swimmers.
WindClan: Located on a flat, dry area, eat rabbits, are fast runners.
StarClan: When cats pass away they join StarClan, the clan in the sky. StarClan protects the 4 clans of the forest and gives leaders and medicine cats their powers.
The Warrior Code: (to be followed by all clan cats)
1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices must not eat until they have hunted for the elders.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
9. After death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
10. A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
