The she cat trembled as she stared at the dead bodies of cats, sprawled along the forest floor. It was before the time of any of the Clans, and their was constant fighting. She, a kit, had lost her mother and father at birth. Now she stared at the dead body of the only one that had been left; her sister. Whining, Cloud started to stalk towards her sister, but a claw made her turn around. Another kitten was looking at her, it's eyes reflecting her fear. "I'm Hawky," it whispered. "Come with me," she added and started to pad away. With one long glance at her sister, Cloud followed, her white fur sticking out oddly in the harsh dark forest. "Where are we going?" She whispered to Hawky. The tortoiseshell she cat whipped around, "SHH! Toms. They're the meanest around here," Hawky replied, crouching down to hide in a bush. Slowly Cloud copied and watched as two toms fought over a small mouse. The ragged, orange one was killed.
