She caught up with Broken and heard the gun fire. "Are you guys okay?'

"Yes" said Broken breathing quickly. as the gun shots were going he remembered a bad moment. He saw in slow motion his mother being shot. he ran off into the shadows and cried in his paws.

She whimpered as he ran. She followed him and crouched down beside him saying nothing. She licked his cheek free of tears and tried to confert him.

Broken nuzzled her and wiped the tears from his scruffy fur. "Why don't we leave, and have a nice night howling at the moon?" he said sniffling.
