History so
far:
The sounds of prolonged panic and horror shook the air, Breaking the normal peace of Isket. An Elderly packmate cried in the distance, but was shortly cut off as one of the krondours cut his life short. Mother tried so hard not to let us see our warriors and family dieing, but it was hard not to see when it was happening all around us. Another, louder cry broke out from the woods just above camp, Another cry that was taken by the Krondors. A new lace of sorrow that shone in Mothers' eyes told me that that the cry must have belonged to Pa and she recognized it as his. I glanced at Halibell, and i could tell she knew just as well as i did. licking her on the nose, i quietly whispered in her ear. " Don't worry Hali, we'll get out of this together. You, Me, and Mom."
She aknoladged my words with a curt nod and turned away. She must have other things on her mind. Wanting to talk to one of them, I looked up at mother who was scanning the distance ahead for any oncoming Krondors. "Mom, where will we .." Horror and fear cut me off. One of the largest krondors i ever saw popped from the hillside, blood dripping form his disgusting, twisted teeth. Mother and Halibell let out gasps of fear themselves, and before i could stop to react Mother attacked the thing screaming at us to run. She had sacraficed herself for us. Nothing we would ever imangine her doing. Feeling a light tug on my tail brought me out of my thoughts. Halibel was glaring at me, mouth slightly gaped open. "Run you great lump!" she barked and took off in the undergrowth.
All i can say is things were happening to fast. Now what will the two of them do? this was truly the last thing i wanted to happen. Halibell had a good head start, so i figured i may as well catch up with her or loose her just like mom and pa.
an hour goes by, and the screeches died down slightly, but they were still occurring here and there. Being alone in the woods was hard to tell what was going to be where, or even what direction they were heading in. Yes, i finally got to Halibell, and we have been sticking together thus far. But i do remember one of the elderly wolves when we were slightly younger telling us about moss on the trees. what about moss.Raking my brain for the answer, i sat resting. Halibell seemed a bit tired herself, and collapsed next to me. "so now what?" Halibell groaned.
"we stick together." i said quietly, trying to keep my voice from quivering from the recent panic. We had just got done out running another krondor, my tail almost taken off by it. But it stupendously fell into a small ditch, giving us a chance to run. Now here we sat, figuring on what we do next. After a few deep breaths and a few minuites time to rest, we got moving again. "So what is your plan Sorren?" Halibel asked.
"I think we should go see if mom is still possibly alive some how." saying my main concern, i felt a slight weight get lifted from my shoulders. "You speak crazy talk."
Halibell laughed. "now common.I bet the packs out west will take us in."
Halibell's remark had made me slightly mad. "Are you insane?! why would a rival pack take us in, you know we are the kids of two highly ranked alphas! if anything, they would want to kill us."
I emidetly regretted what i had said, for my sister looked hurt, and turned away. "fine. If you want your way oh wise one, then lets head back to camp, wherever that is. Oh wait! you don't know do you?"
She did not continue, but simply stepped aside. "wont you lead?"
i knew it. she was not at all happy, or pleased. After all, we werent happy. Our frustration was dawning on us from the moment mother sent us away, What was she thinking?
But before i could finish the thought, a loud crash came from some nearby rocks. We both turned, wide eyed and scared. The very last strand of my hope poofed at that moment, if Krondors were at every turn, then there was sure Death waiting for us. "Run!" i shouted, taking off for the direction where the trees thinned.
Heart racing once again, i didn't pay attention to anything behind me.I didn't want to look back and see one of those ugly krondors drooling all over and making their usual racket. Or even worse, see them getting Halibell. That would just be a nightmare.
After clearing my mind, the thought about moss came back up. but i did not half to rake my brain, i remembered. Moss always grows on the north side of trees, and we lived north. if we followed it we could find our way home! Skidding to a stop, i turned around to talk to halibell, but to find i was alone. were did she go? How long have i been running?so caught up in my own concerns i didn't think about Halibell.
A loud crash came from the side, turning around i saw her sprinting towards me with a huge krondor chasing her. Her eyes were huge with horror, and the krondor looked as mean as ever. Fur standing on end, I began running as fast as I could, Not wanting to be close to the thing. Ahead the sounds of crashing water came, only meaning one thing. a water fall. Glancing behind at Halibell who was still somewhat far from me, I yelled over my shoulder with a brilliant plan in mind. "There's a waterfall Hali!"
"What?" she barked back.
"A waterfall!!" i howled even louder as the sounds of the water grew louder. But Halibell still didn't seem to hear me. Figuring by the distance between us and the running we were doing, i would not be able to tell her my idea. But the idea was simple. Just jump off the waterfall and loose the krondor, and we could rest without worry afterwards.
Now the waterfall came into site. the jump looked far, but livable. Not wanting to think about that, i blocked it out of my mind and continued onward. I could hear Halibell calling me, but we couldn't stop. Not until this krondor got off our tails.
Closer the edge came, and the more the fear swelled in my belly. But being krondor food would not satisfy me. Closing my eyes, i jumped. Feeling the air move swiftly through my fur was nerve wrecking, along with the feel of gravity slipping in my weight. CRASH.
everything went white.
water flooded my ears. My vision was still blurry, and time felt like it had flown by. The air felt thicker, and the smell was soothing. Coughing, i stood up. Confused by the solid, dry land benith me, i fell back down again. "easy young one." a voice came.
"wh-who are you?" I barked, scared now.
"a stranger with no name." it responded. The voice was deep, and raspy. like an old male wolf, or some other creature. but what other creatures spoke on Isket? none that i knew of. Also now paying more attention to my surroundings, i picked up a smell of blood. was it my blood? I did not know. "Why cant i see?" i barked, wondering if the 'no name' would know.
"You hit your head on a rock on your way down. It will come back, you just shook a nerve in your brain. By the way, what made you jump from such a hight?" It responded.
"I...I was running from a krondor. Have you seen my sister?"
"Sister? I only saw you. Unless im mistaken."
Fear swelled in my belly. Did the Krondor get Hali? Did she not know i went down the water fall? "When will my vision be back?" I barked loudly.
"no need to shout young one. It will be back by tomorrow."
"I don't have til tomorrow! fix me so i can find my sister!"
"patients. She will be fine."
Rolling my eyes i tried to glare at him, but i didn't know if i was glaring at a rock or the actual no named thing.
"why son, that there is a rock. im sitting behind you."
knew it.Whipping behind me, i pulled back my lips. "Fix me."
"Im sorry, but you will half to wait. But i must warn you, You will be on your own form this point on.Morning is coming, and im expected back home you see. So best wishes to you, and for gods sake stay in this cave until you can see. Dont worry it will not be long. I have left food for you in the corner, and there are puddles everywhere." With that, the stranger left. Frustrated and annoyed, i sat down, scowling. Only good thing was, is that it was quiet enough to think. Or better yet, i could sleep. Thinking of sleep made the sudden realization poor over me that i was exhausted and my feet hurt really badly. Perhaps it was better that he stay wherever he was. With that, he layed down, yawing. and soon, the world seemed to buzz away and finally, mind was at ease.
Hours later, I opened my eyes to find that i could see again. Where i was was quite beautiful, Moss and red rock surrounded me, and looking over my shoulder i could see the white water pouring down what must be the entrance to this cavern like thing. Mystified, i stood up and walked twords the water. Who knew caves could exist behind waterfalls? Wondrous i stuck my head into the waterfall, a stupid thing to do because it pushed me to the ground and soaked me to the bone. Shaking out the droplets, i realized that there was a large cut in my side. That must have been what caused the blood smell last night. Sighing, i looked around for the pile of food that strange wolf was talking about. if it was even a wolf, I did not know.
After a few minutes of searching, i came across a big pile of hares. They smelled horrible, but some food would do better then no food. After all, its not like i could go and hunt for myself. I didn't know how.
After a few minutes of stuffing my face, I thought about Halibell again. Worry began to cloud my mind, almost to the point to where it was unbearable. I had to find Halibell. I had to go out and search for her, No matter what stood in my way.
But the homey cave was hard to leave. So i decided to stick around for a while and go over what i had learned from father, and maybe use those skills to survive. Perhaps as well, Mother was still alive. A new strand of hope began to form, and New ideas began to bubble.
Personality:
The death of his parents shook him greatly, but gave him a stronger heart. He is now much more courageous, and a lot nicer then he would have been as a pup. But it also sparked a sense of 'I don't trust you' attitude.
