Emerald woke up and crawled out of the small one wolf den she dug. she shook the dirt off her pelt and trotted through the fog. she listened to each of the birds chirp their early morning song. she took a deep breath, breathing in the scent of damp earth. she trotted along, blinking her eyes at the rising sun. it painted the sky pink and orange. an orange glow shined on her white coat. she saw the rock she jumped off of yesterday to kill the elk. she clampered stealthily up the rock and lied down, enjoying the sun. she licked the dew from the grass off of her legs and lay on the rock.

Kyra stood up and yawed. She stretched her paws, then looked at the end of her den.
