Whitebird dipped his head silently. He was showing no apology. Dezerai had just asked him to kill a wolf that had done virtually nothing. Now, Whitebird would normally kill if Dezerai had wanted him too, but that was only if the wolf had truly done something wrong. Whitebird believed that Flame just should be let go...this time. He turned around and headed for his den.
Whitebird slinked into his den quietly. He didn't feel like howling at the moon. He decided to sleep. He put his head on his paws and let his eyelids close.
Whitebird was sleeping soundlessly in his den, his side rising and falling in a rhymatic pattern.
Fire ushered Angel into the den that served as a nursery. "I'll go find you a rabbit," she whispered to Angel. "Stay here." She headed off into the forest quickly.
Whitebird's paws stirred gently, as though he was running in his dreams. To be exact, running from Dezerai. She was trying to get him to kill dozens of wolves, and he didn't want to do it because they were innocent. They had done nothing, just as Flame had done nothing but not join Closed Hearts.
