The small tabby apprentice, gazed up at the sky. He breathed in the scents of his clan, purring to himself as he thought. He was on his way to being a warrior. Otterpaw watched his clan mates busy around camp as he yawned, waiting for his mentor.

Hollowpaw got up and ran to the Moon Rock. "Hi Fernpaw! I'm Hollowpaw. Sorry I'm late, our leader was kitting."

Ribbonstar then lifted her kits and carried them to the nursery, laying down on the floor, which was completely coated in moss. The kits crawled on top of her, their eyes still shut. She lifted her paw and scooched them over to her so they could suckle. Carrotkit fastened on to her, and she began licking Minnowkit, cleaning the goo off her. Laughing, she began playing with them, tossing moss and letting them use their ears to chase it. Suddenly, she stepped on Stripekit. She lept up, horrified. The kit lay there, twitching and crying. She lifted it and brought it back to the medicine cat den. She crushed some poppy seeds, mixing it with water, and making her kit drink it. Stripekit drank it eagerly, and fell asleep, still twitching and spazzing. She then set to it's legs. His back was bent into an S-shape, and its back leg was snapped cleanly in 2. She braces herself, then snapped the leg in place, wrapping it and all the legs in a splint. Then she took a thin stick and splint the kits back, after straightening it. Scared, she suckled the kit, though with it's spasms, more milk was on Ribbonstar's paws then in the kit. She brought it back to the nursery, and brought all her kits into her, suckling them to sleep. And whenever Stripekit got underneath the others, she shoved them on to the thinly coveted floor. He spazzed and twitched, and she kept licking him, unable to sleep.

Slowly, Ribbonstar pulled herself up, leaving Stripekit and the others in the den. She snuck out, and over to the other clan, where she found the kit she had harmed before. She scooped it up tightly, bringing it back to her den. "You want some milk?" she asked the small kit as she comforted her kits.
