Aries looked up at her, frowning. "Because I don't want to get as badly hurt as my sister, Akina when Pinecone refused her so."

"Do you really think I'm going to reject you?" Alei replied with a smirk. "If you do, then you must be blind and deaf." she teased. "Trust me, the only type of hurting I do is killing, and I do not kill for fun. I kill for justice, for good reason. I would not hurt you without good reason." she said sincerely, her expression serious.

Smirking, Aries reached around and licked her on the muzzle, not exactly reassured.

Alei couldn't stop the affectionate smile that spread over his face. "So we're clear on this, right? I promise I won't hurt you, Aries. I've been hurt enough myself - both physically and emotionally - to know that I would hate to make anyone else suffer any type of pain."

Aries chuckled at her comment, then put on a informative voice, "Would you, Alei, the super fae who's beautiful yet can kick my butt a gizillion times, bear my pups, and call me your mate?" he chuckled at the end, but his face went dead-serious.

Alei reached forward, tilting her head to tenderly press her lips to his. When she pulled back, her eyes glowed like the stars that shimmered in the night skies. "I do." she replied, keeping it short and sweet. Two little words, so simple, yet they had so much meaning, so much emotion. She missed Akitin, the male she had loved and been with for as long as she cared to remember in her past, and the father of the pups she had so dearly wished to keep. But now, she glanced up to the sky, closing her eyes. A soft, warm breeze ruffled her fur slightly. Akitin was watching down on her now. He was happy for her, so proud that she had found the one that could make her smile each day. Though he missed her, she could tell he could've never explained - even if he lived today - how proud he was to see that through all the rough times and the bad things that had ocurred in their relationship, she had once again found love. "Thank you, Akitin." she whispered almost silently to the heavens. A whistle in the wind seemed to reply, a whistle that was all too familiar. "I love you." she murmured when she glanced back down, her eyes level with Aries. Aleilial slid her head underneath his chin, nuzzling him with her eyes closed, a content smile resting on her peaceful face.

"Now, would you really think I would let you accept without being wet?" Aries smirked, then tackled her into the lake with mischievous , lopsided grin on his face. Although he did feel outrageously happy after she accepted.

"Nope!" Alei squealed with a laugh before her voice was drowned out by the water. She eagerly plunged into the lake, diving low and shooting up to the surface. She spluttered out a bit of water, but laughed happily once surfacing. "I have a feeling I won't be doing much around you without being soaking wet." she mused with a grin.

Aries had a stupidly self-satisfied look on his face, but then it was torn down. "What would the others...... say?"

Alei shrugged. She didn't really care what they'd say, though. They could testify if they wanted, nothing would ruin this. "Does it really matter, though?" she asked softly, paddling over and placing a paw on his chest.
