Melody nodded, glancing at her paws. "I'm sorry." She whispered. But Melody and PineCone were the betas and were suppose to be mates. She sighed, and continued to pad back to camp.

Akina watched her go coldly. Melody was winning 2:0. Pinecone was obviously in love with her, and she was perfect in his eyes. Besides, they were supposed to be mates. Welll... Akina had nothing.

Melody sat in her den, blankly gazing out. It was possible that she could could step down from being beta female, but how would the rest of the pack react and more importantly how would Pinecone react?

Akina hung her head over the edge of the rock, eyes glazing over in pain and self-pity. She was destined for a bad love life, and she knew it.

Akina hissed. "Was foolish enough to fall in love with Pinecone. Zilch, the end."

Aries raised both eyebrows and slightly leaned his head forward. "C'mon, there's more than that. Don't try to pull the wool over my eyes."

Alei couldn't help but feel her heart skip as he nuzzled her. "There is more, I guess... Well, I'm not really good at admitting things that have to do with anything like this, but I really like you, Aries. I know we haven't really talked too much until now, and I know that you've probably had many better things to do today than hang around with me, but I've grown quite fond of you." she admitted, glancing down with a blush.

Aries snapped into a flashback at her words. Her wrapping her paws around his waist, his sudden jealously, when she touched him -
The brute felt happy all of a sudden, and he looked down at Alei with a lopsided grin.

Alei sighed in relief, cocking her head to the side with a smile. "Aww, I don't get a sweet little reply?" she teased, touching her nose to his, eyes sparkling.

Alei pouted playfully. "Well that's not nice." she teased, throwing her head to the sky all dramatically and rearing up on her hind legs. She looked back to Aries, still up on her hinds. "Oh Aries, why art thou hiding thou's soft side from me?" she taunted sweetly, lowering back down and setting her paws on his, her muzzle only an inch or two away from his.
