Akina yelped, a low, angry yelp that Ali would never mutter. It was a yelp full of pain and longing, and hate.

Raine lifted his blood-covered muzzle to the sky, howling. He howled for his pain, his loss, his anger, and his broken soul.

Akina saw her chance and reached her muzzle right under his and tore a wound right down to his chest, then retreated, soon standing on a rock a few metres away from him.

Raine cried out in pain, and realized whom he was fighting again. This wasn't Alic. This was Akina, who he hardly knew. Blood spilled out of his chest in torrents, but he ignored it. there was no point in acknowledging it anyways. "Akina," he said, quietly.

"What?" she hissed, wondering why he was bleeding so heavily. She had taken care not to pierce any major veins, muscles..besides, it was swallow..

"Snap out of it a bit. I'm not Pinecone. Think. We forgot," he said, serious and quiet. He also wondered why there was so much blood.

"No, you forgot. I was fighting in self-defense." Akina panted, her breathing swallow from what she had used during the fight.

"Sorry," he said, turning and running away in shame. He was just that stupid wasn't he? He needed out of this hell-hole. A place to be by himself. A place where he could curl up and blend with the soil, drown in his thoughts.

She watched him go, then fell into a sleep, having collapsed on the rock, bleeding shamelessly.
