Blinking she let out a groan...Pain flashed along her side as she tried to roll off her stomach onto her side. Head swimming dizzily she moaned and blackness swam across her vision.

Her mouth felt dry, and had an odd acrid taste. Wrinking her nose she licked her lips, sand and dirt coated her muzzle and clung to her fur. Shaking her head and wincing she got to her feet slowly, making sure she didn't move to quickly. Once up she flexed her muscles, testing each for pain. Nothing worse than the headache though she felt the familiar aches of bruises and small cuts.

Here eyes opened wide as she suddenly noticed where she stood. Around her in all directions, nothing but waste. Broken buildings and dirt....

Tired, and sore was his body as he walked through the forest in search of food, no signs of life besides himself was around. He sniffed the stagnant air and his dry tongue licked his nose, His body was growing weaker, and weaker, he crouched down onto all fours and dug at the dirt. The smell of exhaust filled his senses, and alerted him that he was back to the harsh streets of humanity where he once lived.

The sound of wincing made his ears twitch, and made him curious of what- or who was hurt- or dieing. He tried not to think to much of it, but followed the groans any ways, low to the ground, and standing on his back legs to see over brushes.

Species: Red Fox
Markings: His body is a rusty orange with white down his body, and on his paws and tail tip. His bushy tail has brown scattered in, and his legs are brown up to his body. Below his eyes and 'tear marks' ending at his mouth.

Hearing a slight noise near where she stood battered and confused she pricked her ears forward, her hair falling slightly over her right eye as she gazed around her. Lifting her muzzle she sniffed lightly at the air, trying to scent the intruder. With a small sigh and a wince she stepped forward, her leg muscles feeling stiff and unused, it felt good to move though and she stepped forward again. Raising her head slightly she caught sight of the source of the noise. Wary but curious she moved forwards again.

A soft smile on her face she tried to appear unthreatening, she didn't know if this was a friend or foe and so she tensed ready to run, hoping for a friend. She raised a paw and spoke softly "Hello" it came out a question rather than a greeting and she wrinkled her nose.

Peering out from behind a tree, Ryder had came to the being he heard in pain. She was like him, tall and furry, but weak and weary. "Hi there, are you alright?" He tucked his tail and ears into a submissive state, meaning he meant no harm to the Dhole, and slowing walked over with his arms extended.

Seeing his relaxed and submissive posture she relaxed her posture and smiled at him "gosh it's nice to see someone else here" she gushed quickly "I think I'm alright, a few aches and pains but for the most part i seem to be ok" she ran her gaze over him, flicking her hair out of her eyes "how about you? Are you alright?" she gazed around herself quickly her ears high listening for any noise. "At least we seem to be alone for now" her tail twitched nervously as she considered the possibilities of enemies.

She offered a hand to the fox, the white of her paw smudged and dirty she nearly apologized before she realised he was in much the same state as her. "Anyway, my names CJ, pleased to meet you" she said with a warm smile, hopefully the two of them could become friends, she wasnt sure she was keen to be alone in this strange world.

Ryder cautiously shook the Dhole's extended hand and smiled back, he had been alone in the forest for quite some time now, to meet somebody new, somebody friendly, was a diffrent experience to him. "I'm quite fine, just dirty." He chuckled, taking his hand back. "Ryder.... My name is Ryder. Would you like a drink?" He motioned his black paws to the water stream he came from.

CJ smiled and nodded "a drink would be wonderful" she ran her tongue round her dry mouth, her throat felt like she'd been eating sand and she couldn't wait to have the cool icy water sliding over her tongue. She padded to the edge of the river and knelt down, cupping it to her mouth, watching the light play off the shimmering water as she cupped it. Finally she had slated her thirst and sighed happily, quickly running some water over her hands and arms, enjoying the cool feel of it on her skin.
"Maybe we should try and find a lake or something? If we can find somewhere deep enough to swim i can get this grim off me" she chuckled lightly, feeling much better for the cool drink.

"Hmmm, a lake you say...?" His bitten black claws scratched the top of his head, his large ears twitching. He jumped into the shallow river scaring off tadpoles and padded to the other side. "There's a smallish pond out towards this way." He turned towards CJ, twisting his fluffy tail around his body. "Deep enough to swim in, it is."

Cj nodded and a small frown creased her brow as she stood, her stiff muscles were slowly unfreezing and the slight tug of pain in her legs was much duller than the original one she had felt this morning, standing again she wadded across the water, the feeling of the cool current against her legs making her sigh happily. "That sounds good, the sooner I get some of this grime off me the better i think I'll feel" flicking her tail above the water she quickly stepped out and joined him on the other bank, looking once over her shoulder at the rumble and crumbled buildings behind her. A quick shiver ran up her spine and as they walked she spoke to him in a low voice "so, any idea what happened here?"

Ryder's ears dropped and tail drugged the ground, he new what had happened, he regretted the knowlage that sat upon his mind. "yes, do I." he wraped his arms around his body. "That's the ruined parts- you see, a great riot had happened years before, the monsters burned the buildings up into flames."

He led his new friend to the pond he fount days ago, swift on his sore legs weaving around trees. He was tired and hungry, yes, but he was still able to operate normally.
