"Yeah." Wolfpaw said, looking slightly embarrassed. "Thinking about it, it sounds like a silly reason to cry." he chuckled to himself before looking back up at Silverpaw.

"Wolfpaw I wasn't crying for that..." She looks at him sadly, squeases her eyes shut and opens them again, "I...I...I love you Wolfpaw......" she starts to cry again, laying down she puts her head on her paws.

Wolfpaw stepped back in surprise. "But I'm a medicine cat! Nobody would love a medicine cat, that's why they are always so lonely, because they aren't allowed to love. That's what I think anyway."

Silverpaw nodded, "It is against the warrior code for a medicine cat to have a mate, they may love but they never get a mate even if the cat they love loves them back..." she sighed, "I'm sorry Wolfpaw, I'm a terrible friend for putting you in this position." she sighed and got up turned around and padded slowly toward a hollow tree on the edge of the territory.

"Wait!" Wolfpaw called out, following her. "I don't care if you love me, I still want to be your friend! Things can go back to normal, if you want." he said smiling, catching up to Silverpaw.

Silverpaw looked at him, "Normal, how can things be normal, I can't pretend that I don't love you wolfpaw, I can't lie to my heart... I just can't the best thing is for me to stay away from you... And as much as it hurts you it hurts me even more" she mewed distraught.
