Man aren't I lucky today! Two mares, is better than one Smooth Criminal thought as the other mare approched him. He could smell her heat scent. "Why hello there beautiful," he said flirting with the other beautiful mare.

Ugh, she thought. He is one of those live-to-breed stallions. Well... I guess I would be taken by one sooner or later. "Keep your trap closed unless you've got anything sensible to say," she said sharply, bending down to graze.

"You know I am not just going to breed with you and then run away. Is that what you thought?" he said laughing. "I ACTUALLY want a mate," he said. Right now, he doesn't like this mares attitude towards him. But that should change once she realizes he doesn't just want to breed and then ditch her.

"That's what they all say," she said with a flick of her ear. She bent down to graze. "If you wanted me, you'd come and get me," she started to walk slowly away, still grazing.

Knight sighed as he trotted to the distressed mare. It had been such a sad evening! His filly lost, his colt barely alive, and his mate heart broken. His chestnut eyes were full of sadness and depression.
"Don't worry, I won't," he said kindly. He touched his muzzled to her neck reassuringly. "You must've been in winter territory, right?" he asked. "My brother...." he trailed off. "My brother his over there. I never thought he could be so cold and cruel. He was such a great foal!" he sighed and looked into her eyes, and then realized she must've been bred to. "Oh no..." he said. "I... I'm sorry."

Knight came cantering into the oasis. He went to Symphony. He nuzzled her. "Hello," he said kindly, a hit of sadness in his voice. His black coat shimmered in the moon light. "I'm sorry, I really don't want to leave you here again, but I must," he leaned against her side. He knew she wouldn't be in heat again for another week, since the foals were just born, but he was hoping to be able to cheer her up soon with the promise of another foal. "I must go," he said, dipping his head. He nuzzled her one more time before cantering off.
Knight knew where he was headed. He knew where Dream was. After a while of endless cantering, he found her, alone in the desert. He came up to her. "Hello, Dream," he said with a bow. He came back up and trotted closer to her. "Alone out in the night, I see?"
