Coya watched the male leave before turning back to the alpha, she hesitated with her answer, "It's... complecated. I won't go back to The Pits, but sometimes I come across hunters who have captured young wolves, some only a few weeks old, others so feral that a stick send them into an attacking frenzy, and I can't let what happened to me happen to them. So I help them to escape, hoping that their fate is better than mine." She shifted, uncomfortable with explaining her actions on why she can't completly shake the humans, "Have you ever been in a Pit?"

Shalom looked at her, "No, only becasue I trurned on the human and damn near ripped his arm off beofre he could get me all the way in. Then Demon had just happened to have perfect timing and scared everyone out of their minds with his viciousness, some by stander hit the back lock on the tube cage and I took off, Demon at my heels."

[Jaguar's Heart]

Coya gave a sad smile, her eyes filling with the painful shadows of her past, "You were lucky. I was forced to live in the Pit most of my life. All I can see in my mind is the blood that always soaked my coat and the dead animal in front of me. It's hard for me to continue living when I know I've killed others of my kind." Coya dropped her head, sadness filling her, "Did you know that they force you to fight your own family?" She looked up, the hate she held for herself evident in her eyes.

Shalom nodded, "Humans are stupid, carless, and rude. What did you expect from 2 legged furless creatures?"

[Jaguar's Heart]

Coya chuckled, pain still in her eyes, "You're right," she sighed, unsure how to proceed, "Look, if you're planning on staying here then maybe you could use a little more help. I'm a great fighter, the Pit champion until I managed to escape, and can spot a trap easily. If it's okay with you I'd like to stay and help."

Shalom looked her over, her eyes shimmering with each pass, "You'll have to put up with Demon, as he is, technically orur lead fighter, and he'll be watching you. I'm not sure what to make of you yet, I've had wolves before join a pack I was in, saying they were looking for protection from Humans. Two weeks later the wolf was killed and we were uprooted and mooved away, over the mountains," she cringed, "And there was pups in that pack too. Of course I would have never left, but it was not my pack alone." Here eyes fell and she shuffled her feet.

"Demon's no problem," Coya said confidenlty, "and I'm not really looking for protection FROM humans, but to help you out if any come along, or someone gets caught in a trap. I don't mind following orders, but I'm not a Whipping Dog either. The only time I do go around humans is to scout for captured pups, then I'll go in and help them, otherwise I prefer as much distance between me and them as possibly. And if I die, by human or wolf, then I'm not as strong as I've always thought I was."

Shalom snorted. "Fine you can stay, with one more condition..." she waited for Coya's reaction.

[Jaguar's Heart]

Coya tilted her head, "What?"

She hesitated, "Next time you go to the humans, you take Demon with you. I need him to see it, he doesn't understand as I do. He doesn't know the full force of the humans, he doesn't respect them. I assure you he won't be much trouble, he's fast, quite and smart. It's just that he hasn't been with humans enough to get the whole picture." She waited, the ultimate teste she thought. If this wolf was good she'd agree to go with Demon, but if she didn't something was up... Or so she figured.
