Orphius couldn’t help but look at her with a puzzled expression. She was acting as if she was going to freak out on him and attack him. How he got that idea- she was hyperventilating and speaking like a nut. Okay, so he wasn’t judging her as a nut, but he was going to be cautious with this. What if she was crazy? But those thoughts fell away when she finally explained that if she got sick she could die. Was she… frail? She didn’t seem like it by the way she acted. But he couldn’t just let her flip her lid.

“If it is any consolation, fish do not regularly carry disease.” he pointed out to try and help ease her mind, if only a little.

Seven - Sev ♀

The wolf’s comment didn’t really help her. She had built up a diet for a reason, though she did decide to calm down and go with the flow. Looking around, she thought about her hunting grounds. “I should go hunt or something. Flattening her ears, she looked at him, “Fine. Alright I’ll just see what happens. I have to go hunt elk, though.”

She stood, shaking herself. Seven would have to learn to not freak out every time she was exposed to illness, though she had always been cautious when it came to that sort of thing. Smelling the air, she turned her attention to getting to the herds of elk. She was already out of routine, so she would have to make up for it.

(sorry for taking forever. Somehow, I got strep throat… I have NO clue how considering I’m not so careless to get sick.)

Orphius found her a little strange, to be honest. She was one of a kind, he was certainly sure of that. Only because, in his life, he’d never met anyone quite as unusual as her. Thankfully, though, she had slowly mellowed down and stayed her freak out- for now. Of course, Orphius only hoped that there was no reason behind her worries. If her worries were well reasoned, then his sympathetic and kind side would be heavy burden. But… He couldn’t stay. At least, he could help while he was here.

“Would you have me accompany you?” he asked as he sat down, watching her sniff the air extensively with her black nose. He didn’t say it in the way as in being forced, even as the words itself may imply that. He was only offering his help if she would accept without hindering her pride. One’s pride was a mighty thing to swallow, and forcing one to do so was one thing someone should avoid. Lest they wished to be chewed out on the accusation of being rude.

Seven - Sev ♀

Seven’s eyes flicked over to the male’s own, “I have a specific diet that can’t be broken. You would have to follow me to my hunting grounds, as well, but then you might infect it.” Her ears flattened, trying to think of a way he could help. Smiling, she sat down, “Clean yourself. I’m very…germ… sensitive.” Lowering her head, she demonstrated how he would have to do it. She had practically become an expert at this.

She lied down on the ice, rubbing her body across the surface. This was usually how she cleaned herself; through the ice. If there was no ice, she wouldn’t be too happy. Having rubbed herself with ice a few times, she stood up and shook her pelt, moving on to clean her other side. It may have seemed strange, but it very well was necessary.

Perking her ears, she realized she had forgotten to introduce herself, “Where are my manners? Oh wait, I don’t usually have guests. Anyway, my name’s Sev.” Though she wasn’t quite ready to tell him her whole name, it was better than referring to her as “the blue, black, and white girl”.

(('Tis fine. We all get sick.))

He gazed at her as she displayed how she cleaned herself, rubbing herself over the icy floor to get her fur coated in the ice to get any germs off by freezing them. It wasn’t often any germs could live in such an icy tundra, but she was very careful otherwise. However, he didn’t find himself having the lack of self etiquette to do such a thing in front of a another- let alone a stranger. Orphius was not going to rub himself on the ground like a playful puppy- because he wasn’t as such. So he would not do so. But, for her requirements, he would ice himself over, if only to appease her.

After she introduced herself, the snow clouded over a bit, as if only on their part, and began to snow heavily. The flaky ice less powdery than it had been so kind and quickly coating Orphius pelt, his red and dark color fading beyond the white. It didn’t seem to last long as the snow slowly dissipated. Orphius shook his body lightly, a poof of snow exploding off his fur and layering the ground bellow. Sure, it couldn’t have been coincidence that the snow could do such a thing, though on occasion the weather was known to be rather unpredictable.

Orphius shook his head, letting his mane falling over the side of his face and he lowered his head, bowing down to her. “A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Sev. I am Orphius Rahall.” he spoke. Sure, he didn’t like sharing many things. But his name was passable, considering that his family was no longer alive. So there was no concern in anyone learning his full name. He straitened himself, gazing at her like not a thing was possibly out of the ordinary. Though, to him, none of this was all that strange or uncommon. Only the part that she had a problem with germs.

Seven - Sev ♀

Seven scrunched up her nose, “I suppose you won’t actually do something I need you to unless I tell you, huh.” Looking around a moment, she made an attempt to start walking back to her den, but was stopped by the crunching of snow underneath her paws. Her eyes followed him as he bowed, somewhat discarding that gesture. She wasn’t used to it, so there for it wasn’t exactly open for acknowledgement.

“I came from a shady background, so later on in life I developed an ability to block out pain. It comes with a price, though. A simple sneeze could become a fever which could fry my brain. Basically, your normal illnesses are multiplied by ten within my body.” She barked, sitting within the snow. Looking to the sky to watch the few snowflakes falling, it was a relief to know something as pure as they could actually thrive within this world.

Glancing back to Orphius Rahall’s own aqua tinted eyes, Seven let a sigh escape her lips. She hadn’t necessarily told anyone else, maybe hinting somewhat, but she hadn’t told many people. Well, that was a lie. She hadn’t met anyone else, so Orphius Rahall was the only one that knew.

Orphius listened to her explanation. Ah, it made more sense now. Or, at least, more than it did before. “I see.” he spoke. “Though your pain tolerance may be high, I urge you not to injure yourself.” he spoke, as to chastise any fool-hearty nature that came with such a tolerance. Though he spoke, he stayed still where he stood. He had no need to go up to her, as she could hear him well. “If you require my assistance, I will help only if it is necessary or you request it. But know that I will not be here tomorrow.” Not much of a conversation holder, in particular, it was more of a conversation ender.

If she didn’t need help, he would simply rest in the snow. And he would hold true to his promise of his parting. He could not linger here any more than he needed to. Orphius walked away from her, picking a spot in the snow where he would keep to himself. “If you need me, I will be here.” he informed her. He had already had his fill of food for now, so there was no need for hunting until tonight. In which he would eat and leave this area for good. At least, that was his initial course to take.

Seven - Sev ♀

Seven squinted her eyes at the wolf, “I don’t have pain tolerance I just don’t feel pain.” Though it probably wasn’t loud enough for him to hear her, she covered up her tracks anyway. “Yeah, sure, whatever.” She mumbled, though it was a normal tone of voice. Hearing him offer his assistance, she shook her head, “No, no. I have to hunt for myself. I take a lot of precautions when selecting a target.”

She shook herself as the light sky dandruff ended, “Ok, well I have to go now. I can’t go much longer without any food.” Seven looked at him one more time before running north toward her hunting grounds. The snow crunched under her weight with a steady rhythm. Her tail was parallel to her body as she ran. After a few minutes she had began to tire herself, her pink tongue falling from her jaws lightly.

Slowly down as the sounds of elk filled her ears, she quickly sniffed the air to make sure no one had hunted here. Sighing with relief as the air was clean; she positioned herself in a certain spot so the wind blew against her. Crouching low into the snow, she made sure to cover her fur with a light blanket of snow. When the snow began to fall heavily, her eyes had a hard time picking out a target.

Her eyes ran from a full grown buck to a pregnant female lying on the ground. It was perfect. She would probably bear a newborn in a few minutes. Though she couldn’t hunt a full grown elk, newborns were fair game. Her gaze never left the female. She was beginning to breathe heavily, a sure sign the newborn would be arriving soon.

((Sorry for taking forever, been having some bad weeks </3. Enduring some horrible heartache right now as well))
Orphius could have sighed from her side-comment, which he barely heard over the winter howl of the wind that breezed over the frozen tundra. He knew what she meant, he was just using technical terms, as usual. But he still kept to his advice. Sometimes, feeling no pain was a terrible thing, considering you knew not how terrible your wound could be. Which is why he had urged her to be careful and not get hurt. He had no other words to offer though, as she announced her leave. All he could say was good luck to her, which was perhaps unsought.

As she vanished into the white, he averted his gaze and glanced around, taking in the smells and sights of the area. He would not stay here, for he was in search of something… Orphius gave a soft huff, warm mist flowing from his jaws. He stood up and dug a small indent in the snow and laid down with his head on his paws and his tail wrapped around his side. He would have to rest if he intended to walk upon that frozen tundra so early in the morning once more. He felt rather discouraged he would never find what he was looking for…

Such illusions of a paradise of green woods and warm soil and blooming flowers entered his mind. How in places where seasons could change as they should. To experience spring and fall and summer, as well as winter. It didn’t take long for the snow to begin to fall once more, but the large wolf did not move, simply closing his eyes as his body was buried in cold snow. But he didn’t feel numb, like any other wolf might have. Yes, many wolves had their coats to keep the warm, but sometimes it was not enough in conditions as these.

Seven - Sev ♀

Seven slowly arched her back, her paws out in front of her as she stretched. Pulling her body forward, she stretched out her back legs comfortably as she prepared to enter her hunting grounds. With a quick shake of her fur, Seven was softly padding through the snow down the hill. She had become so used to this area she hadn’t had to scent the air in a while.

She lowered herself into the snow a few yards from the small herd. There was a buck, a pregnant elk, and a female lying in the snow. A clear sign she would be birthing soon. Not to mention she was far from the herd. Blinking softly, she slowly made her way toward the female, shuffling through the snow silently.

As the elk’s breathing became heavier, Seven was sure not to drop her gaze. Once again she lowered herself into the snow, this time she buried herself partially in the snow. She softly scented the air, growing bored of waiting. It was necessary, though, if she was to make an easy catch.

As her patience grew thin, finally the elk was born. This was her chance. She slowly inched forward as the mother got to her feet, encouraging her young to do the same. Seven charged, dashing through the snow as her tongue fell from her mouth. The mother covered her young as Seven ran into her, nipping her side as she attempted grabbing the meal. Her side was hit by the female, blood beginning to ooze from her side.

With a quick bite of the mother’s hind quarters, Seven found an opening. She grabbed the elk calf, dragging it away from the mother as it struggled. Re adjusting her grip as a bull ran her way, Seven turned and ran, dragging the struggling calf along as she made a clean get away.
