Orphius put the she-wolf out of his mind so he could eat. His stomach was yapping at him to eat before it turned to dust. He agreed with his stomach that he would eat. So, he walked on to a place where it was most opportune for food. But, he was going to go with something more… tropical, if one could call it that. He stood over the ice that was thinner than the rest and stepped on it. He wasn’t all that great with his ‘powers’, but he was good enough. The ice began to fracture under his paw and tore itself into a large circle. He clawed out the rest by paw and then stuck his face in the hole, sniffing the water inches bellow.
Not that he could smell fish, but polar bears swam in waters abundant with fish. Sometimes their smell lingered in the water. This part smelt fresh of polar bear. Now… what he was wondering. Was he really going to jump in there? Orphius raised his head from the hole he made. Well, he wasn’t having luck with mammals. So, yes. Yes he was jumping into that freezing water. He stepped back a bit and them jumped strait in, water splashed over the ice and soon froze over it in a thin layer of mushy snow.
He opened his eyes and floated under the ice, finding the underwater world as magnificent as usual. Though it was always a bit dark under the ice, light filtering down from the hole he had made above. He held his breath, bubble lightly coming from his nose as he swam in the freezing water. He watched the water intently, seeing shadows move about. Before he knew it, he was swimming after fish, which were coming his way, a larger shadow following after the fish. He snapped at the fish , catching one at the first bite and another with the second. But the shadow loomed over him and nearly mauled him.
He quickly swam to the side, watching the large polar bear chase the fish. Well, he got two. He came to his hole in the ice and surface through the mush- the top of the water had frozen a bit. He grabbed the top of the ice with his paws, clawing digging in the ice as he pulled himself up onto the ice and dropped the fish, letting them flounder on the ice. Orphius shook out the access water in his fur, then grabbed his fish and moved away from the hole and finding a cozy spot in the snow. He dropped the fish in the thin powder and laid down and starting to eat one of them. He put his paw on it’s tail and began tearing it apart and chewing it, then swallowing.
