"So you are not totally ignorant. But there aer still rules and traditions I'm sure you haven't heard of. You have much to learn." she said. She gave a slight smile.

Deryn ran a ways until she came to a clear blue pond with a lovely water fall roaring down in the back. She smiled and looked at Kuro.
"Nice isn't it?"

Rattina smiled back "Is there any thing that is very important that I should know?"

Astra thought for a moment,
"It is always advised that you get home before the sun sets. The forest is very hard to navigate at night. It's also when jaguars are most active. While several wolves can usually drive away a jaguar, one wolf on it's own cold easily be killed." she said.

Ruben nodded,
"I've had my own experiences with jaguars." he said. He shifted his shoulders and parted the fur to show a puckered, pink scar that ran down his back. Her then shook his shoulders and the fur fell to hide the scar again.

[Kanaria]

"Jaguar? Isn't that a type of car?" Rattina asked, even though she couldn't remember what a car was.

"A car? I don't know where you come from Rattina but there are no such things here." Astra said. "Surely you know what a jaguar is."
I wonder if this "car" is something belonging to the groundlings. Astra wondered, Or the patchfurs as the wolves call them. She looked out over the trees and the lowest mountain peak that enclosed the valley.
[i]The groundlings should be returning soon. she thought, They've never hurt us birds, only watched us really and somtimes put shiny bands on our legs. But I'm not sure how well it'll go with the wolves. They won't be able to hide from the groundlings forever.
