mossclan lived in harmony with their neighbouring clan, helping one another with any threats that were
made known throughout their territories. the two clans thrived; they were strong, robust. that is, until t
wolegs invaded the forest. they stormed in by foot and riding in or on huge monsters, tearing down every
thing in their path. mossclan's neighbour, acornclan, almost entirely perished, falling victim to the dread
ed twolegs who thought they owned everything they set their eyes on.

mossclan also suffered heavy losses; including the great tree, containing their leader's [lavenderstar] den.
the tree that had been protecting their camp for generations. after the fall and after many great warriors'
deaths, mossclan fled further into the forest to find refuge, taking those of acornclan who remained with
them.

it took a few moons for the struggling clan to rebuild any of what they had and put down roots; they had
n't even appointed a new leader until recent days. now, mossclan must continue to build up their new ca
mp and scope out their new territory. while they may be low in numbers, their spirits have not been deci
mated just yet. having lost their leader, deputy and medicine cat all in one day, the clan is sombre. but t
hey cannot give up. they won't. they will learn to adapt, as their ancestors did before them.

their clan's greatest interests in mind and heart. they love their clan, and they will s
top at nothing to help them thrive once again.

mossclan has free reign over the areas they have scouted so far.

for generations, mossclan lived in the south west corner of the forest, with a giant tree in the center of their camp. the tree
was moss clad and had mushrooms, berries and many other flora growing both on the roots and branches, and on the surroun
ding forest floor. now, they live further into the trees, approaching the north east corner. the forest itself is think, dense, hel
ping the cats who reside there to pretty much walk freely through the trees without worrying about being spotted. in the nor
th east corner, there is a cave system known to house a small wolf pack. obviously, the clan avoid going near there wherever
possible.

the prey is plentiful, unlike where they used to be. sure there were a lot of squirrels scattered around their old camp thanks
to the great tree. now, they have an array of species to prey on; mice, rabbits, squirrels, sometimes chipmunks, lots of small
birds. but with this much prey come other predators. aside from the wolves, there are foxes (who are usually uninterested in
the warriors, but as the canines are known to attack kits, the clan is cautious and keep their distance), badgers, beavers and
snakes in the surrounding areas. so far there haven't been any issues with said predators, but still the clan remains vigilant.

aside from the other species' that prowl around the forest, the clan have come across a few loners. again, they weren't much
trouble at all. they either joined, or respectfully withdrew from the camp's territory. there is a known greenleaf twoleg place
[campsite] quite a ways off from the camp- worrying of course, but so far there hasn't been any threat from the place, or the
twolegs who sometimes reside there.

inside the camp, the dens are as follows: the new leader's den is a little cave in the north of the camp, hidden by vines. the
elders' den is nearby; yet another cave, but slightly larger to accommodate the best of comforts for the retired warriors. the
warriors' den is near the entrance to the camp- a cluster of hollowed out logs - and the apprentices' den is not too far off; a l
arge, thick shrub. the queens and kits den is a large underground cave. as for the deputy, they live in a cave in the west of th
e camp. this cave is conjoined with the medicine cat and their apprentice's cave; a larger settlement with a steady stream of
water running through. the medicine cat's cave is big enough to house them, their apprentice and a few sick and/or injured c
ats.

a large river flows not too far from the camp, with a waterfall a little ways up-river. behind the waterfall is a large pool of w
ater. both the pool and the river are home to several fish species, but the pool can be dangerous to get to. only the more ex
perienced and capable warriors are permitted to go there to hunt, and it's only when absolutely necessary.

♠ due to the recent hardships, mossclan's belief in starclan has deteriorated. the pool behind the waterfall
would have been the clan's moonpool, but the current leader has put these kinds of duties on a list of low p
riority.
