With a whistling sigh having left his ink dipped prow, Zayev observed that no one had cared to speak their name. Of course, he was half expecting they wouldn't, but the feeling of being ignored hurt all the same. He hadn't felt much for a while now, and he found that he was grappling with this long forgotten emotion. His reaming eyes scathed the group once more, some of which had dispersed, and the lofty male struggled to his feet. None of them proved to be of any amusement, use, or comfort any longer, so he simply proceeded to saunter towards the field with his long, coiled tail draped over his sloping back. Zay's emotions were overwhelming as each one slammed against him with such an intensity that it caused his head to spin and his stomach to reel. The company of others was something he couldn't handle in such a mass, for he hadn't laid eyes on a dog in what seemed like forever. Now with the introduction of too many canines to count, emotions he hadn't felt for quite some time manifested inside his turmoil fraught heart. No longer was he simply just angry and depressed like he had been before, no, it was much more complex than that. But he couldn't sort through them all at once. He was fearful of where he was somewhere deep, deep down, furious that his owners had simply dropped him off, sullen that the other dogs didn't want to talk to him, anxious that there were such a hoarde of dogs, and finally, a sharp pang of loneliness gripped him with an almost unbearable vehemence. The Kangal thrashed his head furiously, as if doing so could clear away the emotion that wrenched his chest. Zayev simply couldn't deal with all of this; it was all too much for such an isolated canine to handle. In response, he broke into a dash for the field, where he would hopefully find solace in being solitary once more. But as much as he wanted to, he couldn't avoid contact. And perhaps starting off with talking to one dog would be bearable, but the display of cool and aloof confidence couldn't hold strong for too long. Soon he knew, he would revert back to his aggressive and bitter ways. Gales of zephyrs surged through his cropped and well maintained pallid cream pelt as he absconded from the rest. And by now, he was well into the nearly empty field. Finally the lofty fence was in sight. No, he had no intentions of trying to escape, or at least just yet, but flattened himself against the grass at the very corner of the clearing in a constricted mass of black and very light tan. He forced his eyes closed and shut them tightly in attempt to escape the world around him. How am I supposed to cope? Perhaps I can just stay here... Maybe the humans won't look too hard. There's always places to hide, and always places to run to. I'll escape somehow. Someday. But until then... I can't form any bonds. Ever. They'll only hold me back, and I can't afford to go soft. They aren't trustable anyways. My aggression shouldn't make it too hard to put them off, and if I don't show any other emotion or share my thoughts, they won't have weaknesses to use against me. Ever so slowly, his plan to cope here started to form in his head, and the emotions started to fade back into subservience. Most emotion was a simple weakness in his mind, and if he felt only angry, no room was left for other weaknesses. He would thrive, and he would come out on top. Zayev refused to be vulnerable in the fights, and he would do whatever it could take to ensure his well-being here. But somewhere in his cold, anger filled heart lied the warmth of compassion. It just had yet to be found.
